I can't say enough about this park. The staff truly know what the meaning of customer service is. Activities and socials offered were fun, entertaining, and not just your usual run-of-the-mill offerings. The grounds are lovely and impeccably kept. We wish we could have stayed longer!!
Lovely state park campground, located about 20 minutes from downtown Savannah. The entrance is lined with live oaks covered in Spanish Moss, and each site is divided by more live oaks and greenery. We stayed in a pull-through site. There is a lovely trail in the park which leads to an observation tower overlooking the marshes, which you can walk or ride bikes. We loved it and would recommend it wholeheartedly.
We stayed at site 92, which we selected online. It is a 55-ft. back-in site overlooking the lake, and it's a lovely site. We have a 43' MH with toad, and arrived as it was getting dark. This was our first visit here, so we did not know what to expect. The road to get to the site was very narrow and windy, with lots of trees on either side. The site was located on a tight curve of the road, and we had to back in up a hill into the site - challenging with a 43' MH in the dark. Across the lake is a railroad track, with trains crossing frequently throughout the day (and night), and blowing their horns to let you know they are there. (We got used to it.) It's a good location, overall, if you don't mind train noises.
Very nice campsite, with level sites, full services, and conveniently located off the highway. Laundry facilities were excellent, and the staff were super friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
