Our visit was to search out a location for a RV Rally nest summer. Although just south of Overland Park, this campground is quite rural and quiet. Yes, it is late in the camping season so the park was lightly occupied. Fall clean up had been completed and the park was clean and everything worked well. There is an impressive antique shop on site. Also, a large pond and area for dog walking. Some of the building show some deferred maintenance on the exterior and some are empty of former businesses. The highlight was a performance by the Bellamy Brothers which was excellent and a price bargain. We will camp here again.
Rating is based on location. Otherwise this park was a disappointment. Low water pressure, very tight sites, lots of permanent campers, not a great area of town, lots of deferred maintenance. The pool was very nice and extremely clean. Owners built this park 24 years ago and are nice people but need to update a number of things. Not very level, no trees. BUT, if you want a site that is convenient to see St. Louis it will work.
We love to stay at this park! Took our grandson with us on the way to see the sights in St. Louis. Went early in order to use the beautiful pool and enjoy the landscaping and flowers. With a 45 ft. motorhome we had a very level site. The management is wonderful at this park and can't do enough to make your stay pleasant. Wi-fi was excellent. This is such a convenient, quiet stop along Rt. 70.
We stayed 10 days while visiting Denver. It is our choice of campgrounds in the area. We stay each year for our annual visit. Weekend are totally full but were not noisy. Great layout for a park with huge space between sites which are concrete. No cable or WiFi. Maintenance seemed to have slipped from last year. Trash dumpsters only get emptied on Thursday. This leaves a smelly mess from the previous weekend. Mowing was overdue during our stay but was completed the day we left..figures.
We actually stopped in May and June. Facilities were much improved on the June visit. Campground is for sale but maintenance is still good. Had the ice cream and the pancake breakfast both very good. They had expanded their hours in the evening which was nice. Open until 9 PM. Still closed a good part of the day. A nice and convenient stop half way between Denver and KC.
This is one of our favorite campgrounds. Great owners who bend over backward to make your stay pleasant. The facilities are immaculate and amenities abound..not to mention the flowers. They offer a couple of dinner choices for a reasonable price and deliver to your RV. Try the stuffed cabbage..it is to die for! We stay every trip from KC to Denver.
We initially reserved for two nights but extended to five. Much to do in the Fredericksburg area and this is the best campground in the area. It changed hands during the last month. It was purchased by a RV sales and service company on the other side of Fredericksburg. The new owners are doing a lot in the park. It is very clean and spaces are wide and comfortable. Cable and WiFi worked great. There is an exotic animal ranch next door with some very interesting animals to view. The people were very friendly and helpful as to things to see and places to eat. Great German food in the town. Lots of shops and a huge flea market the third weekend of each month. We will definitely return.
