Not worth it any more. We stayed here last year and really enjoyed our stay, but not this time. The sites we stayed at (same as last year) had grass that was very high and was not well kept. Never could connect to the Wi-Fi. The pool area was our biggest concern. The amount of day use people that are allowed to enter this site (YMCA, etc) really take away from the campground. I know it makes more money, but we only used the pool for a day and a half. The first day was fine because we went after all the day use people had left, but pool was still pretty cloudy. I guess because they have some many people using the facility they are not able to keep it up. Then on the second day everyone had to get out of the pool because someone had done' their business' in the pool. The final day we were planning on going to the pool, there were so many day use people, that we did not even bother and went to the movies instead. Unless they can get a balance between campers and day use people, and reduce greed, I cannot recommend this facility any longer.
Very nice state park. The grounds are kept up very nice, and all of the rangers and workers were nice and professional. I think a little additional gravel on the sites should be done, but when we were there it did not rain so not a problem. All of the historic cabins and the Steel museum on site are a plus. You are within 10 minutes of all major necessities, but feel like you are a ways away. Got a few local channels over the antenna, but barely any cell service, and the air card could not connect. Highly recommend if you are between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, AL.
Very nice resort. Kids really liked the stream and the clean pool. The family that runs the campground are all some of the nicest people I have ever met. They do whatever they can do to make your stay enjoyable. The sites are pretty tight, but they do an excellent job of getting you in your site in the best possible spot. The whole place is kept extremely clean. The only negatives (very minor) was the shower which you had to keep pressing every few seconds for water to continue out, and the Internet was a bit spotty at times. Would not hesitate recommending this campground for your stay near Gatlinburg.
The Resort is very nice, but not really for us. We wanted to visit Houston for a few days and there are not any state parks near where we wanted to visit. It was super clean. The cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen. Of course sites were close together as is with most private parks. WI-FI worked very well. Overall just a little cleaner than I typically enjoy (prefer the more rustic atmosphere). If you want a safe and resort type atmosphere and don't mind the $42/night then this is definitely a nice place to stay.
Very nice state park. Great place for the kids to play, ride bikes, and just have a good time. WI-FI works great. Very clean bathroom and showers. Only downfall to the showers was the need to keep pressing the shower to keep the water coming out. The sites are closer together than the other state parks we have stayed in Louisiana, but still nice. Also, don't leave any food out. Even though we put our trash in the provided trash cans with the heavy wood covers, the raccoons still were able to topple it over and go to town and make a ton of noise. But hey that is what it is all about. I would stay here again.
Excellent state park. Sites were very level. Small, but decent playground for the kids. Park was clean. Very family oriented atmosphere. Would definitely stay here again. Take your time getting there off the interstate and watch carefully for the signs.
A very nice and clean state park. We very surprised to have free WIFI access at the campsite. This must be a new feature. Most sites are not very level, but was not that bad. We would definitely stay here again.
