Older park with friendly hosts. Bathrooms clean but could use sprucing up. Great location within walking distance of Columbia State park. We camped in October during the week and stayed 3 nights for the price of two, a great value. Very quiet and shaded. Nicely located for day trips to Sonora, Tuolumne, Twain Harte and Angel's Camp.
At first I balked at the price but decided that it was convenient to Highway 101 and to our plans, so I reserved two nights. Staff efficient and friendly. We asked to be away from the pool and petting zoo. It was fairly quiet. The location is the best feature for me: close to San Francisco, Sonoma and Napa Valleys, Bodega Bay. There were a lot of employees cleaning, pruning and asking if we needed anything. Restrooms/showers okay. The family from Indiana in the site next to us took the offered tour to San Francisco and said it was wonderful. This is a great place to park your rig and let someone else drive you through the streets of San Francisco.
It is what it is! It is a very convenient stopover off Highway 101 with every restaurant and store imaginable within walking distance and an outlet center one exit north. Target, Costco . . . The staff is friendly, the sites are level and the restrooms are clean. I'd give it a 10, but it doesn't have a table on the patio area.
I've stayed here many times in both a trailer and now a motorhome, but the sites are becoming more and more rutted and uneven. We stayed in an electric/water site (we usually get full hookups) and the sites were so close together that we could hear our neighbors' every move.
I like this campground . . it is in a pretty setting and relaxing. I have the feeling that if it was full up it wouldn't be nearly as relaxing as some of the sites in the back where we were are pretty close together. We enjoy walking over to the Benbow Inn (same owners) for lunch or dinner. I don't play golf, but their course was quite busy. Older, dated restrooms and no hot water one morning.
Nice park. Friendly people. You can use swimming pool next door. Restaurants, golf and tennis. The full hook-up sites are nice. Showers are iffy and they charge 25 cents . . . not cool. It is way off the highway, but was a good place for us to relax and do laundry in a convenient setting during a three week trip. It is situated next to the Crooked River gorge.
Beautiful park, especially if you reserve sites 1-6 which are riverfront on the Rogue River. Friendly family-run park. The office will make reservations for the jet boat trips out of Gold Beach, and they will pick you up at the dock. Older restrooms, but well kept.
