We did stay here as part of the rally below, but have a different side of the story. Our site was very level, maybe we just got lucky. And the customer service we received in the main office was wonderful and very helpful. This was our first time at the campground and only went there because of the rally, but we will be back after the experience we had
Small campground with several long term residents. Not too much to do in the general area unless you want to drive 30 minutes. Gravel roads and sites. Had to bring a table from 3 sites away because the other 2 and ours had broken seats. Fire ring was at the site. There is no sewer hookup but they will come and pump your tank out for you. Owner was very friendly.
This is a really nice campground. I am not sure what everyone compares a short walk, but about 2 miles to the beech is too far for me walk. I did have a pull through site. They do not assign a spot just tells you to go find one that doesn't have a card hanging up. All w/e sites were taken even though I had prepaid for one, so I had to wait until someone left their site to get into mine. The beech was really nice and had a blast there. We will return.
This is a very nice state park. We had a full hook up site. They do not have sewer hookups. Only issue we had was that the water pressure was not very strong at all. Not sure if it was the site we were at or that is how all of them are. But sites and roads are gravel. Each site has a fire pit. Site was very level and was a nice place to ride bikes. Has a nice playground for the kids. Pool was not open, but looked very big. Nice beach to play on or picnic. We will be going back.
Nice campground if you like camping on a football field. There are some shady sites. Worked out great since we went with a group of campers. They have 2 really nice playgrounds for the little ones. There are golfcarts that you can rent (think 40ish a day) but we were unable to get one as they were all rented out. We didn't have an issue with people going too fast or anything like that but I can see how that could happen.
This is a nice campground. Friendly staff. Only complaint is alot of sites are not level. Also, if you are looking for a playground for kids, NOT one there. Camp is about 10-15 minutes north of Williamsburg. Very easy to get to from I-64
Very nice Campground. we were there before the whole park was opened but the Tulip Loop with full hookups was open. There were 5 Trailers in our group and we all loved the campground. I can see where there might be standing water in the summer so the bugs might be bad, but we went too early in the season.
The campground is well kept. We were given a spot on the main road and the road traffic was a little louder than we would have wished for. There are NO fire rings and no fires allowed. They do have a bonfire every other Friday. There are 3 nice pools and a baby pool. There are also 2 waterslides and a diving board. Beach is very nice also.
Very nice campground. We got a site on top of the hill. Trees on 3 sides of the site. Fire ring and picnic table. Gravel sites and roads. Very peaceful except for the people who felt they needed to turn their TVs up at night outside to watch the race and the loud people across the street. But all in all, had a great time.. 2 swimming pools and a hot tub. Great country location and we will be returning when we are ready to go to the outlet malls and see the Amish.
