Although they have a newer section, the remaining is very run down. Little to no maintenance. People drive and park on the grass or partially in the street. The management is 2 women who are not very friendly. Many rvs have been there a long time and plenty of junk is piled around them. The management seems too busy smoking their cigaretts and ignoring issues they should be addressing.
Our stay at this park was very nice. You couldn't ask for a more pleasant staff. They go out of the way to make you feel comfortable. It was formerly a KOA and since they dropped the KOA affiliation, they are making many improvements to an older park. The owners live on-site and are always visible.
We had a very pleasant stay here. Management is very helpful and courteous. In Texas you are not allowed to carry an unconcealed weapon unless you are a police officer of some sort, so I question the earlier statement that he wore it on his hip. We've stayed there a few times and it has always been a positive experience.
We were very disappointed. Many years ago we stayed there and it was clean and well-maintained. The last time we stayed there, there were huge pot holes in the streets and the trees were not trimmed and managed to put some major scratches in the paint of our motorhome. Definitely will not go back.
Trees and low limbs are a real problem for big rigs. Many sit right at the edge of the sites and manueverability throughout the park is very difficult. Trees need to be trimmed and many cut down. Sites are not maintained for cleanliness. Park is old, needs maintenance. No restrooms/showers, laundry is not air conditioned, and not well maintained for operation or cleanliness.
A tremendous amount of effort has been put in this park. The only reason we can't give it a 10 is because the shade trees are new and there is limited shade. The park itself is very clean and well laid out. Easy access and egress for big rigs. Concrete roadways and sites with patios.
In reading some of the 'extreme' negative posts about this park, I can only assume they are being generated by the 'competition' in Santa Fe. I have been visiting this park since they began constuction and considering this is a build as you go project - feel they are progressing nicely. Park and facilities are clean and well maintained. Big Rigs can navigate the roads without difficulty. As far as complaints about the wind, one will need to talk to a power far higher than the park management to get anything done on that front.
