The staff is really friendly and we stayed during the Halloween weekend so there were events like trick or treating and a haunted hayride. Those were well done and well attended. Downside, the sites stink. My site was on a 45 degree slope. We had 3 other family's camping with us and all were on a hill. One of the fire rings were on such a hill that we couldn't keep wood on the fire. The sites are so small that you can't help but intrude on your neighbors. I couldn't set up an easy up canopy without putting half of it on my camper, and the picnic tables are tiny. While I think that the owners do a good job, I don't intend to return.

This place was great! A little more than we normally pay, but there were a ton of offerings. Live bird of prey presentations, beach parties, kickball and activities for the kids. Bathrooms were very clean, the staff was great. The pool was clean and everything was really well managed. If I had to find a gripe it would be about the campers from away who were loud after quiet hours (11 p.m.) but that was addressed. If you have kids this should be high on your list of places to go. We can't wait to get back.

We loved this place so much that we booked it again for Memorial Day Weekend 2011. The young couple who own the campground work very hard to ensure that everyone is happy! Movie nights, ice cream socials, they do a great job. I would recommend this campground highly

This is a basic, small campground. The website was nice and reservations were easy. The website advertised all sorts of kids activities that would take place Memorial Day weekend. Upon my arrival, I was notified that the website was wrong and that the caretakers (the campground is owned by Morgan RV resorts and hires couples to work the summer) were several weeks behind. In fact, the campground received it's first mowing the first night we were there. The bathrooms were clean, that's important. The camp store is overpriced, but that's Maine in summer. The camp sites were small, like postage stamp size. I have a good sized pop-up and there was enough room for the camper, a picnic table and that's it. If the campsite next to me had not been empty, I would not have had a place to park my truck. Overall we had a good time, but I will probably not come back.

This is our third time here. The last time I was not super happy with the bathrooms, but we gave it another shot. We got here in October and discovered that the owners had redone all of the baths and showers! There is nothing like the Conway area in fall and the campground was still holding the tractor hayrides and the staff was really nice. This was the last weekend that they were open for the year but you could not tell. Staff was happy and helpful and all the facilities were clean and up to date. I'm really looking forward to coming again!!

I don't hand out 10's but this place so deserves the 9. The campsites are huge. They are surrounded by trees so each site is divided. When we told the desk clerk we had kids, they placed us right next to the playground. The playground equipment is brand new and safe. There are two rec halls, one for kids and one for adults. Free crafting corner for kids. the roads are paved and level. My pet peeve is dirty bathrooms and there was no worries here. Showers were free and clean. The lake is beautiful. We stayed in the fall so swimming was not an option, but the colors were unreal! This is the nicest campground we have ever stayed in and I highly recommend it!!

This is a great family state park. It is a state park in the sense that it's primitive camping. No electric, water etc. That being said, the sites are really nice and private, The bathrooms are modern and clean. The showers were really clean. We only had to walk about 40' for a water spigot. The park features a great beach area. Weld lake is shallow and warms quickly, so the swimming is usually good. It has boat landings as well. The park has some of the best hiking in Maine, Mt. Blue, Tumbledown Mountain, Big and Little Jackson. If you like the outdoors, try this place.

I would like to give it more than a five, but I just can't. The sites are really small, the camp roads were really rough. I've driven down logging roads in the North Maine Woods that were in better shape. The bathrooms, in a word, yuck! The shower stalls were dirty and filled with sand. The toilets smelled strongly. I went in one mere seconds after it was "cleaned" and it was still dirty. The bathrooms are old and set up in an outdoors style, with the sinks and mirrors outside. No soap, or paper towels were provided and toilet paper was a rare commodity. Pluses: It is a really quiet campground. The people staying there were really nice and the staff was OK. The pool was nice and the kiddie pool was well maintained. I guess if I had to sum it up: The park is run very bare bones, I probably would not return, but I wouldn't feel like I had to leave early.

We had a great time, Site was large and clean. The pool was heated and only about 200' away. The bathrooms were well maintained and staff was friendly. We are looking forward to a return trip!
