Not for us! Teens have taken over with the golfcarts, Small kids don't stand a chance on the roads. Sounds like a warzone at night with all the fireworks. No sense of order at all, RVs parked all kinds of ways. Place looks like a refugee camp. Small cramped sites, neighbors sewer hose about 10' from our door. Pool was nice but overcrowded. Stay at Myrtle Beach Travel Park instead, it offers the same amenities but with much more peace and organization.
Our favorite park in Myrtle Beach. We spend the last week of July every year camping in Mrytle Beach. We have tied many parks and this is the best. Friendly helpful staff. Rules are enforced, ie, no fireworks, no motorcycles, no golfcarts. Kids can walk on the roads without fear of being run over by teens on golfcarts. Swimming pools, campstore, snackbar and gameroom are great. We camp in the shady area by the lake instead of the oceanfront sites, which have no shade. Beach access is easy. Plenty to do without leaving the campground.
Great weekend getaway or stop over park. Nice and clean, friendly staff, beautiful park. We go here every year in October for the fall festival. The staff organize arts and crafts, carnival type games, hay rides and Ghost stories during this weekend each year. Clean restrooms and showers. Right across US1 from Okefenokee Swamp Park.
Georgia state parks are some of our favorite campgrounds. This one is really nice. Most sites back up to the lake and have nice level gravel parking sites and patio areas. Very peaceful, kids can ride their bikes on the paved access roads without the worry of being run over. Shower house was nice and clean and close to all sites. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, unusual for state employees. Boat and canoe rentals are available. Great for long weekend getaways or a stop over.
