One of the best maintained parks that we have stayed in. Shady sites, excellent wi-fi, cable good. Small lakes and fountains around and waterfront to creek. Two dog runs, both with hot bath available. Bathrooms are spotless. Really good facilities, and pools that are meticulously looked after. Rate quoted is the Spring "Special" of $199 per week. Location is quiet and close to shopping and restaurants. Short drive to Tampa or beaches.
Would agree with the earlier comment about not being "big-rig" friendly and no pull-thru's. Ours is 35ft and we had to drop the tow-dolly and reverse in, but it was worth it. Great view over the lake, with beach 50 yards away and little restaurant to the side. Wifi was free and cable excellent. Lebanon only 4 miles away. Friendly place and good value at this time of year and you can't say that too often!
Our only criticism of this park would be the management. We made a reservation for Sat/Sun but later learned that we would only have time for one night and called a few days before to advise them. No pleasant discussion at all. It was a case of "well we'll charge you for two nights anyway". Accepted that, but the attitude was rude. Arrived at 1pm on the Saturday and was charged an extra $5 for being 2 hours before check-in time. Been on the road for a year now and this has never happened. Especially when we've paid for two nights and only staying for one. Tried the wifi that was advertised and it did not work. Back to the office and they gave me the tel. no. of the wifi co. - Linkspot. They told me the park is off the air. Back to the office and they called Linkspot, but it was obvious that the system had been "down" for some time as they told Linkspot that they were unhappy with repeated complaints from campers. The park is very pleasant with lakes and excellent pull-thru sites. Shame about the penny-pinching attitude and we would not be back.
Cannot imagine how anyone thinks the restrooms are clean. They are 50 year old huts built with porous materials and used by people with filthy habits. Dividing walls within are only 4ft high, so no privacy. Site has rough roads and is a virtual dustbowl with no grass. OK, great for kids, with lots to do. But for the average RV'er it's certainly not our choice, especially at the price. The advertisement and list in boasts "internet friendly", but they have no access at all. If your visit is to please the kids - go for it. Anything else - pass it by.
No complaints at all, (although it is pricey but you get what you pay for), especially in the middle of summer. Very tidy park with all the amenities. Wifi and cable great and included in site fees. Very friendly and helpful staff. Sealed roads and concrete pads. Would disagree with earlier comment about Salisbury Beach. It would need a lot of work before raising its status to "Dump" level. Would stay here again, handy for Boston and Salem.
This review is to make it clear that there are 2 KOA Bar Harbors. The main park is this one, on the water and it looks wonderful. Great location. The other (Woodlands)is 2 miles down the road and deep in the woods and does not compare in anyway. It does have wifi and cable, but there any benefit ends. It is definitely the poor relation although the rates are still sky high. Be really sure that you want to go to KOA Woodlands - we never would again!
This is the "other" campground of KOA that is not on the water, but 2 miles down the road deep in the woods. Roads are dirt tracks and sites are rough. 60% of sites are under a tree canopy that makes them very dark and a breeding ground for bugs. The only plus is that this park has wifi and cable, whereas the waterfront park does not and we needed the wifi.Big mistake, and one you should not make.Restrooms are in a 50 year old hut. At $60 for a site with sewer it is way over priced. It is a measure of the park manager's confidence when she said "you'd better have a look at the site before we confirm things". The place is an afterthought and way over priced. We would not return!
Been on the road for 10 months now and this is one of the best we have stayed at. Well looked after by very friendly and helpful staff. Great value (cheap really). Cable free and wifi only $1 per day and works great at site. Roads good and sites level. Well patronized restaurant at front which we will try tonight. Only complaint anyone could have is that there is not a pool but that is not a concern on our account. Highly recommended and would return without hesitation.
Great park with extra helpful staff that have a friendly attitude. We reported that the cable was not up to scratch and they bought over a TV to test it (which showed the problem was on our side) then lent us a cable to fix it). There was a theme weekend scheduled for when we were here and they went the extra mile to make sure that it was successful. Not a traditional RV Park layout which adds a bit of interest. Lots of space. Pool and amenities all in good order. Well stocked shop. Only minus is the entry road, which is dirt and lumpy. Would definitely stay again. Wifi excellent and free.
Not the usual RV Park. Place is absolutely huge and 85% would be seasonal/permanent. A kind of holiday camp for Quebecer's. Has it's own supermarket and restaurant. Central lake and lots of facilities for kids. Not far from town, which is an attractive place with lots of restaurants and a very French atmosphere. English is spoken in the office, but very limited elsewhere (that's if you can find anyone who wants to talk to an outsider!). Good little par 3 golf course almost next door - only $7. TV reception marginal with 3 English language stations. Pay for WiFi @ $5 per day! Bathrooms old and questionable.
Nice park with friendly and helpful owners. Located about 20 miles east of Ottawa in a mainly rural area. Big disappointment is the standard of the restrooms. They are way beyond their use-by date and built of materials that cannot be cleaned properly, even if the effort was made. Otherwise, amenities are good. Wifi and cable is free and operates well. Good access and internal roads with wide sites and fire rings etc. Would camp here again as no others in the area offer the same amenities, but would not go near the bathrooms until things have changed!
Could have rated this park much higher except for the rest rooms. The park building are about 50 years old and the rest rooms are the same with no updating. Almost acceptable if they were clean, but they were not. External door would not close, so also full of mosquitos which swarm the area. Shame because the park is well laid out and on the lake front with boat hire and small marina. Volleyball court had a ball, but no net. Cable and wifi both excellent. Small shop with basics, but closes early and open during the day intermittently. Access road to the park is dirt and rutted which shook up the contents of the motorhome on the way in. Only wish they would clean the restrooms and at least give them a coat of paint. Would probably stop here again if I could not find another local park with wifi and cable.
Spragge only has 1 restaurant (cafe) and no shops at all. Nearest are 17 miles so make sure you pick up anything you need before you get here. Tidy camp and good value. Wifi great. TV reception almost non existent - 1 channel with antennae booster. Friendly staff and all amenities spotless. Good overnight stop.
Roads and sites just dust and dirt which does not justify a nightly rate of $45. Wifi and cable are good. Handy to town and the ferries for Mackinac Island being about 3 miles away. Not an attractive park and we would be looking elsewhere if we returned to the area. Met friends here who were staying at Mill Creek RV in Mackinac City, on the waterfront and paying $31 for water & sewer hookup.
Park now has wifi (free). Yes cable is good and location OK. Shame about the roads which are red dust that covers everything after a day or two. Fairly new park that has been created on the cheap but works ok and location near town is good. Walk to restaurants and few shops, including supermarket.
What a great place to park your RV. Welcome change from the normal parks. Right on the waterfront of a busy harbour and a short walk to the city centre. Somebody had a bright idea to use the space used for winter boat parking. Sure, it does not have everything that an RV Park normally has but the benefits more than make up for that. Would definitely call in again.
Once again we're at a KOA camp that likes to charge top dollar but will not re-invest to provide facilities that match that price. This time it is the roads. Thankfully it did not rain otherwise we would have been ankle deep in mud. Roads and sites are just dirt. If any road-base were ever laid it has long gone. Many of the sites had the water/sewer/elec/cable in a strange location - usually too far away. Most arrivals had problems and were shunting to hook up. We had to use the cable connection of the site next door. Cable is excellent - full channels and great reception (must be new). WiFi also great at site. Only 3 miles to town and just off the highway. Just got to fix those roads. PS Watch for the two little dogs at the entrance for walkers or bikers. They dearly want to bite you!
WiFi is now installed and works well (although we were parked next to the antennae by request) but still no cable TV. The location of the park gives little reception even with the booster. Bathrooms are very old and the mens restroom stalls even had just a curtain instead of a door. Getting fed up paying top rates at some KOA parks when the facilities do not match up. Staff friendly and helpful and sites were large. Would probably look elsewhere if we were in the area again or checked to see if the place had been updated.
Good park for an overnight stop. When we arrived it was the day after torrential rain and flash flood warning. The management offered us a refund if we wanted to leave as most of the sites were soggy. Decided to stay and all was OK. Amenities are good. We parked near the office and WiFi was good on site. Great pool with separate hot tub. Definitely recommend for a stop and we'd stay here again. Staff and owners very pleasant and accommodating.
Don't stop here if you have trouble sleeping with noise. It is right next to the Interstate with no protection at all from the road noise. Nothing local of interest - most things appear to be on the other side of town. Amenities are good - wifi, cable, pool, bathrooms etc. No complaints in that respect. Shop well stocked and staff pleasant and helpful.
Fairly new park in the middle of nowhere apart from the Casino next door. Otherwise there is just farmland to look at. Currently (Sunday afternoon) just us and 1 other RV here. Good roads and concrete pads. WiFi is good at your site. No cable and only one local station available on the antennae. Suppose they do not want you sitting in the RV watching TV when you could be losing a packet at the Casino. Would stop here again if we were coming this way but mainly because there is no other choices!
Great Park (never given 10/10 before). But you pay for it of course. Wonderful value if you've got kids as they would never be bored unless it rained. Cable channels limited and WiFi just a little iffy at times. The place is enormous (2nd biggest in USA we're told. Reasonable food outlets and shops on site, which is lucky because it is miles away from anything else. Queue for "all you can eat pancakes" every morning. Careful where you are allocated a site. You could be literally a mile away from the office.
Arco was a stopover for us plus a look at "The Craters of The Moon" area. Found this park on the web and were intrigued by its content. Set up by a retired Colonel and follows a military theme. We have been touring USA for 9 months in our motorhome and this was one of the best and friendliest parks we have visited. The owner is extremely obliging and a real nice guy. The place is spotless and I'm sure you will never find cleaner bathrooms (latrines). I felt like wiping my feet before going in. Cable and WiFi both very good and free. Big recommendation and would come here again, especially at the price.
Nice, well presented park but cannot see where the daily rate can be justified in Billings. We reserved a fullhook-up site but when we go to the allocated site there was no sewer. Returned to the office and changed to one of the dozen or so that did have sewer. Small % for a large park. As others have remarked the road to the park is terrible. Don't bother washing your RV or car. There are signs up for road work, but nothing being done. Would we stay here again - probably try Yellowstone River Park just down the same rotten road. Looked nice and probably cheaper.
Great little friendly park. Asked at reception for a site that would be sure of WiFi and the lady was very obliging. Good Cable. Pleasant, well kept park with deer grazing nearby. Close to town and not on the main road like the more expensive KOA nearby. Recommend and we would use it again.
$60 for the Memorial day weekend and $53 for the following day. Both way overpriced and more than other parks in the area. Another park that advertises WiFi but you have to sit outside the office to use it and it's cold in this area. At this price they should be able to afford another antennae or two. We even requested a site that could pick up wifi when we paid the deposit, but nothing was mentioned until we arrived at the front desk. We stayed over the Memorial Day weekend and after and the park was busy, but only 2 of the 3 restrooms were open so there were queues each day. Told at the office that the other one would be open in a couple of days. Also heard the same thing 2 days later when someone else inquired. They did not open after 5 days. Check the cheaper parks if you are coming to this area.
Great park for the money. Wifi excellent at only $2 per day. Cable same with 60 channels that work well for a change. Handy to the city centre and clean and tidy.Staff at front desk helpful and friendly. Would certainly stay here again.
Great Park if all you want to visit is the Casino. Nothing else here. Told WiFi was not available but we could pick it up from where we were parked near the office, so ask for that siting if you want to use the computer in your RV. Free newspaper. Deal from Trailer life magazine is "stay one night and get one free". So at $18 for the 1st night and nothing for the second it fits any budget.
This park is about 12 miles from the city centre, but quick access by freeway nearby. Very friendly office and offer a few extras like book exchange, computer hire, exercise equipment, video rental. Excellent wifi and cable. Pull thrus are a bit tight for a big rig. Sites are level and gravel. Only one central dumpster. Laundry is spotless and has tv and magazines to while away the wait time. Not the prettiest park in Tennessee, but a comfortable and convenient stay. Recommended.
Small and sites very close together, but that is expected in a new park in a very busy area. Owner, will do whatever he can to make the stay good. Close to attractions, cable & wifi excellent. No shop. Laundry and amenities very clean. Trash can at every site and collected daily. Not the biggest and most spacious site, but friendly atmosphere.
