Our first time to this park and we really enjoyed it. Some sites were pretty hard to get level; front end would be up off the ground which we avoid if possible. There were branches from trees hanging down pretty far (needed trimming) at one site we tried to get into. So far we have only found 30amp service which was a bit of a problem as the temp got to 100 yesterday and needed to start our generator in order to run 2 ACs to cool down coach. We would come back!
We've driven by this campground for many years and always admired it from the road, when we had the opportunity to be in the area at stopping time we were delighted to stay here . . . it is a VERY pleasant park & WE WILL BE BACK!
This was our first time at this KOA - we were pleasantly surprised - it is very well maintained, every kind of camping available, LOTS of planned activities, super family friendly. The only negative I can say is it is very pricey & then didn't even get a "printed" brochure of the area - it was a poor photo copy!
This is such a nice park - we come to Oregon often and just found this nice County Park close to everything. The all paved sites are well laid out, lots of grass. Everything is very clean. We were here during the rain but could see how pleasant it would be to be here in the Spring or Summer - we will be back!
Good over-night stop for us. Clean sites, easy access - friendly staff. Limited 50 amp, we were fortunate to get a site with 50 amp due to so few other people in park.
LOVE this campground along the Mississippi River. We camped here a few years ago & I often think of being there, watching the barges go by all day & night. Returned the first of Dec. 2011 & felt so peaceful to "be back". The staff are very friendly. Will always make a point of stopping here when we are in the area.
Rate reflects Passport America, we stayed here 5 nights. This CG is a good base camp for the many things to see & do in the area, you are pretty close to your neighbor. We backed to the road which could be a bit noisy. Staff/owner is very friendly. We'd stay here again but request the other side of the CG in order to avoid the road noise.
We had tried calling this campground ahead for reservations, there was a voice mail answering machine stating: "No reservations were needed for the upcoming weekend." We left a message stating our needs and never received a return call. When we arrived at the campground the office was open but there was no one at the office. After waiting around a bit we noticed a phone # on the front door with instructions to call this # if no one is in office. We called the number, it went to a message machine. Left a message stating we were at the front office/gate. Waited some 10 minutes or so, then decided to drive around to look for a site. While doing so a man in a ATV came up and was a bit rude asking what we were doing and why we didn't call the # on the door. When we said we did, he took his phone out of his pocket, waived it around and said, "You didn't call me." We showed him the dialed # on our cell phone. The guy affirmed that it was the correct # but something must be wrong with our phone! A Bit Rude if you ask me. If it hadn't been late we would have left. Was just an overnight stop.
We came here with a caravan & then extended on our own for a few days. It is a VERY clean RV friendly spot - convenient to sights. Did not rate a 10 simply because it isn't our idea of a "camping" spot - ie no trees.
Beautiful Park, staff very friendly. Only negative was the weather!!! It started thunder, lightning & POURING down rain as we were getting parked, the ranger came to unlock 50amp-we told him it could wait 'til am since it was raining so hard but he got out there and took care of it anyway! We were bummed that we weren't able to get good pictures because of weather - would definitely come back if we are in the area again.
This is a VERY good campground, I didn't give it a 10 only because some of the sites are difficult to get level in. It has beautiful trees, the grounds are kept very nice - we've been here 6 nights and would love to stay longer - very peaceful place - but must get on down the road!
Such a great campground: everyone is so friendly, and it's conveniently located. We spent 9 nights here, left for a couple of days, and came back for 5 more! We'd come again!
Our site was a 'head in' right on the banks of the water: VERY nice. They'd had A LOT of rain the week prior to our visit, up to the night before, so the park had a lot of standing water yet. We stayed 2 nights and could see a difference each day as the water was drying up. We'd stay here again.
