Pros: friendly staff; shady lots; quiet at night; and close to town. Cons: small lots; noisy car/truck traffic during the day; about half of the lots (the better lots) rented to long term campers; old/dingy bath house; rules not enforced; and hard to get on/off road (NC105). We stayed a week and enjoyed ourselves, but the campground has a "trailer-park' feel. For our next visit, we will stay elsewhere.
Owners on site and they were super nice. This is definitely a "work in progress", but has great potential. The owner is working daily to finish the park. Lovely views. Convenient location close to I-74 and Mt. Airy. We will return.
Nice, on site owners; campground clean and well-kept; bathrooms very clean; free Wi-Fi worked great, level gravel sites. Very close to I-95 and moderately noisy. There is also train activity in the vicinity and they operate during the night.
Not a bad park, but noisy...it's on Lundy's Lane highway and traffic in constant all day, but not bad after midnight. There is a train at the back of the park, but wasn't that bad, as we ran the A/C during the night. All parks on Lundy's Lane suffer from these two problems, not just this park. The bathrooms were clean, the pool/hot tub was nice, and the park is convenient to the Falls area. The staff was nice and helpful. A large part of the park is seasonals, but the section we were in had a good "feel" to it. If we ever go back, I will probably try another park though.
We stay here several times each year and once again were very pleased with the staff and this park. This is one of the nicest parks we stay at. Our rate was for PA members. We will return many times in the future.
Not a bad place, but a typical county park...most of the lots were filled with locals using the park as vacation property; most of park was seaonals, but there was room for a few transiants. Facilities were clean and in good repair. We stayed only one night, after a long day of driving...didn't even unhook toad. After dark, it was quite and peaceful. The road to the park is uphill and winding, but not too bad...if were are in the area again, we might stop again for a "one-nighter"
I was not overly impressed with this park. I guess i was just expecting more. The check in ladies were less than pleasant, but maybe they were just having a bad day. Took too much time to check in, considering i had reservations. Our lake front site (as were all sites) was large and neat. Someone had planned this park very nicely. Concrete pads, picnic table, fire ring, paved roads, no trees on lake side lots, nice lake. Bath house average cleanliness. Very quiet at night. 15-20 minutes from Myrtle Beach. For the price, i think i'll stay at the beach next time.
Nice, shady park. Interior roads gravel, sites were grass. Sites were large and hookups were convenient. No cable, but several local stations available. Park is convenient to an outlet mall and Camping World. Close to I-95, but car noise was minimal. Owners on site and operate the park. Some long terms tenants/snow birds but half the park is short term. No facilities for children. We will return on our next visit to St. Augustine.
