This was a really nice place to spend a couple of days. The area is gorgeous, and right on the Hudson River. The sites are wide enough, with grass and trees, and well-maintained. No Wi-Fi. Bathrooms were clean. My only complaint was that the lodge was right across from our site, and there was a large party with loud music. They did stop playing at 10 PM, but the ambience of being on the river was disturbed. We didn't take advantage of the train into NY City, but the station was very close and we were told it was a 45 minute ride to Manhattan. We would stay here again.
We liked this park. It was convenient to the area we were visiting. It was pretty quiet, with just a bit of freeway noise. The facilities were clean, and well kept up. The site was a little tricky for us to back into, in that it was on a hill, and we didn't want to fall over the cliff. (We didn't!) The park itself is very pretty, lots of trees and flowers. We would stay here again.
We LOVED this place! It is quite rural, but that's what we wanted. Hostess is a wonderful and seems to work non-stop from morning till night. The grounds are kept up beautifully. It is just a few miles outside of Salmon. It is right on the river and so quiet. We did quite a bit of hiking, and were impressed at the number of deer roaming through the area, including right through the campground. We would definitely recommend this campground, and would love to stay here again.
This park was awful! It basically was a vacant lot with sites. We had originally planned to stay several nights, but, upon arrival, dialed that back to one night only based upon the dreary appearance of the "park". The woman in the office was quite rude. When we asked if we could get quarters for the laundry, she said "No, there is a bank about 2 miles away".
We stayed here because we needed to be in the area, and this park was still open. I think we were the only non-resident here. The other sites were all full, and we were told they were "pipeline workers". Our site was muddy, too narrow to put both our slide and our awning out, with litter and toys (from neighboring families?). The bathroom stalls were so small, I could barely use them (and I am 5'2" tall!). The two ponds were scummy. The roads were difficult to navigate, due to being rutted and due to all the vehicles parked along the road. The person in the office was polite. The park was quiet, and close to shopping. We will Not stay here again, and would encourage a major overhaul to the facilities.
