The only reason it earned less than a zero was the water park, which my two year-old adored. But I cannot recommend this to anyone, honestly. Not only is it overpriced at $70+ a night for a VERY cramped spot, we were put directly across from the dumpster which was overflowing when we arrived and the same as we left. Multiple times I complained about the smell and each time promised it would be removed to no avail. The young staff members were very friendly but the administration seemed much more concerned with selling spots than pleasing clients. VERY poor.
Not for kids as no fires allowed - nor are there playgrounds, lawns, etc. But if you're looking for a modern, clean, well-maintained, CHEAP, secure and overall pleasant place to stay in Amarillo, this is it! The location right off of I-40 is far enough back to kill most noise from the highway but more importantly puts you two minutes from the major retail, food, etc. The clubhouse and admin. building are very nice. Bathrooms and showers are VERY clean, modern and each one locks for families. Concrete throughout, but nice wild grasses break it up so it is attractive. No, this is not a place to socialize like state park campgrounds, but from a utilitarian point of view, this is perfect! Go in the off season like we did and they let you stay third night free - we stayed three nights, full hookups = $30!
