Easy access from Interstate 75 means heavy traffic noise. Pull through sites close to pool/office/restroom. Good location for an overnight stay when traveling. Accommodating staff made check in easy and will deliver fresh baked pizzas to your campsite. Extra charge for Wi-Fi.
Clean, quiet KOA campground. Spacious site with concrete pads. Pretty flowering bushes when we visited. Nice pool. Campfires only in large community campfire surrounded by solid wood chairs; firewood provided free. Several restaurants nearby. Within easy driving distance to Gainesville for Gator games. Only negative was the multiple "Do Not " signs throughout the campground.
Called in advance to check availability and rate. Per instructions, selected site on arrival from after hours map. Unfortunately, site was hard pack dirt with I-95 highway noise, and leaned to the left. Stayed anyway due to late hour. Did not use their shower in morning because the restroom was worn and not very clean. Charged significantly more than quoted on the telephone. Told by man at checkout that I had called a different campground, although I called from the KOA book and the Point South KOA number was on my cell. Do not recommend this KOA.
This is our favorite campground. Friendly, helpful staff and an excellent manager. Long pull through sites available under large, old oak trees. One of the restrooms has been remodeled and has private family shower rooms. Terrific pool and oversized jacuzzi. Staff plans weekend activities all summer, including BBQ at pool so we didn't even have to cook. Family friendly with ice cream sundaes and movies at pool on Saturday. Located on the Pinellas bike trail!
