This was a very full, large campground with somewhat close-together spots and some double pull throughs that didn't cause a problem for us since we were in back and left later. There appeared to be a trailer park either right next to it or actually as part of it but it was so well laid out, spacious, well maintained that it didn't matter to us. Showers were clean and a nice size with a comfortable-sized dressing area in front of each. Bathrooms were clean as well. We would stay here again for a one nighter.
This park is located in a partially developed industrial-looking area on the edge of town. The lady who checked us in was very kind and helpful but I cannot give them a high rating based on her kindness. First pull through we tried was not at all level and we had to ask for another site which was easy to arrange. Everything is gravel except a grassed playground and a large concrete parking pad in the middle of the campground. Parked there were several work trucks, flatbed trailers and a very old van. Most campers appeared to be residents either full-time or temporary full-time. Spots were close together and not at all an inviting area to sit outside. There was an odor in the air that reminded me of a garbage dump. Debris was leaning against the outside of the office building to include a broken mini merry-go-round, a discarded pedestal grill (don't know where it was from because I didn't see any grills or pits at any sites), large piece of plywood board, stack of old lumber and more. Wi-Fi was weak and inconsistent. Cable TV worked fine. Bathroom and shower were very clean. Shower was small. There was one shower stall and one toilet stall and a larger central area with one sink in the women bathroom. The bathroom and laundry building were together, in a dark area almost concealed beneath low-branched trees. When our teenage daughter wasn't back after 15 minutes for her shower we went to check on her (it was getting dark) because we were not comfortable with her walking through the grounds alone. We would not stay here again.
Price reflects 2 adults and 3 children with Good Sam discount. Park is nicely wooded, but the trees are not in the way of large rigs. Friendly, helpful staff. Near crossroads of interstate and highway, but no noise because of all the trees. This rating is not a 10 because the showers were ridiculously small with low shower heads that hardly sprayed any water. We stayed here 1 night, but I would stay here again.
This was a great place for a one-night stay but would be even better for a weekend to take advantage of all the activities here like lake swimming, paddle boating, laser tag and paintball. Campground is on Army base land but you don't have to go through any check points to get in. They do require your social security number in their computer at registration but they said it was immediately encrypted and unavailable to the office staff after it was entered. The grounds at this park are great and spread out. Camp sites are generous with space with nice roads throughout. Cable worked fine and showers were clean. Watch out for lots of ant hills as you walk through the grass to the shower buildings or anywhere off the roads. We arrived after registration office hours but the other staff in the building told us to just pick out a site and pay up in the morning. Big play ground for children and they played a family movie outside in the evening. We heard gunfire and shelling off and on all night long; stopped with sunrise. The noise didn't bother us; just quite a unique experience. Would love to visit longer next time.
Very friendly and kind staff with golf cart escort to our site. This is by far the best KOA campground my family has ever visited. It was certainly pricey like most KOA's and this price reflects 2 adults with an 18 y/o "child" and 2 teens. Soon after checking in, the golf-cart man came knocking with free cookies for everyone. Showers were very clean as well as the campground. Lots of clever little entertainment areas for children and adults. Fake western town front (great for photos), donkeys, small covered bridge, basketball court and more. Sites were spacious for a KOA. They were still giving the $2 discount for each person in your group to apply toward breakfast at their diner. No complaints about the food or service. We were only passing through but will remember this one for next time we drive through.
Our stay was after flooding along the river and some of the campsites had washed away. Our site (#11) had the back end washed out along with some exposed pipes. This may be why we did not have water hookup available. Lots of SPACE, SPACE between sites. Playground is spread out over a large grassy area with lots of room for children to run and play in the shade. Resort (and pool) is only a short walk next to the campground but the pool is small. Parking on the river was different than most campgrounds. The wind was VERY strong but quite refreshing after being in warm climates prior to coming here. The 36' A Class rocked off an on almost all evening with wind gusts. Laundry is available in the park office but is closes at 8 PM when staff leaves and doesn't open again until 10 AM when they return. Makes it hard for those just staying one night on their way to another location. Park office isn't readily easy to find but if you enter at the resort driveway, turn right and the campground and office should come into view.
We chose this park because of the excellent sale their website made and other reviews on this website. Don't let their website fool you - this is not a "Resort" but it is a fine place to stop overnight with nice staff who were very unorganized in office. Their property does connect to the beautiful Mormon temple but you can only see the 2 spires from the campground. If you climb the hill in the back of the park, you still cannot see the whole temple (warning: mosquitoes are terrible on that hill). The volleyball court is not sand but very fine gravel. The campfire pits are nice to have but don't plan on grilling your food over them; there are no grates. Bathroom/showers were in need of cleaning and had bothersome flies. You can see the road from some of the spots, but we were not bothered by any road noise. Level site. Fields adjoining campground were watered all night long with a constant loud ticking sound like a clock you couldn't turn off.
