We stayed here in a tent, and most spots are shady and secluded. It was nice and quiet, and the park staff was friendly. There were clean bathrooms nearby, and electricity if needed. The camping spots are a short walk from Dixon Lake where we rented a little boat and went fishing. Their rules are a bit tight with campfires, but it's understandable with the fire danger around the area. All in all a nice place with a decent price!
This campground is under new ownership and they're completely re-modeled the entire place. There's even a new lodge that is beautiful! We've camped here a few times and it's always quiet and serene. We went on a few hikes that start right at the campground and head up into the canyons. There is always so much to see, and the view from the top of the hills is amazing! The night sky has so many stars too! It's a fun place to camp or stay in your RV with their western cowboy themed decorations. There are usually hikers from the Pacific Crest Trail staying here too. They have laundry, a nice clean pool, and even little cabins to rent if tents aren't your thing. There are shade trees on almost all the spots, so nice in the summer. It gets a little windy sometimes, so don't forget your tent stakes. We hope we can come back soon!
