This is an extreemly busy campground on the weekend. Just pulling in I had to wait twice while other travel trailers backed into their sights...it took me over a half an hour to get to my sight. Lots of things for the kids to do though. This campground is likely my 4-year-olds favorite. Waterslide costs $10 per day extra. They rent golf carts (you cannot bring your own) and they are zooming everywhere loaded down with teens. People constantly walk through your site! Did I mention people constantly walk through your sight? The interstate runs right by here so in some sights there was constant noise. Price is very high for what you get. On the positive side the pool and play area is great if you don't mind lots of people.
Great park. The new owners are working to make this a very clean family-oriented park. The location is just beautiful, on the Current River. The sites all have nice level concrete pads with full hook-ups to include cable and free wireless internet. The camp store was pretty well stocked and the employees were all very helpful. We will stay here again.
Our experience with this campground was just OK. We love the price, and the restrooms/showers were clean and well designed. We followed the advice of another reviewer and entered the park off of Honeycutt DR (By the riding stables) and I am glad we did. The RR tracks at the main entrance are very bad and I can see where many stabilizer jacks have been drug off there. We got a pull-thru, and found it to be very dusty with almost no grass. The beach does not open until noon, and they don't allow parking close-by. You have to park up the hill...Army policy... Despite some disappointments, the price and location were right for us.
This really is a great campground. We stayed here a week and loved every minute. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and centrally located. The pool was cery clean and well kept. The owners are friendly and are working very hard to improve the grounds and facilities. This is a very family friendly campground. It sits directly on the Current River and is about a 10 minute drive from Van Buren.
