We have camped here 5 years in a row. Each time there was a problem with campers around us. We experienced loud parties late into the night, people drinking and then throwing up in the bushes, large dogs running loose and attacking other dogs, fights, racing motors and scary behavior. The rangers (and their aides) do not monitor camper behavior. They leave it to the Oregon State Troopers. The troopers do come when called but their response is not timely. We gave up trying to stay here and now stay across the street at a private campground.
We stopped here on our way to Oregon 8 years in a row. We will not go again. The last time we stayed, there was a problem with the electrical hook-up. The maintenance man (a teenager) took a look, shocked himself and then declared that the problem was in our rig. Turned out he was wrong. While no lasting damage was done to our rig, we will never stop at this campground again.
This is a lovely place to stay. Grass, trees, and an amazing amount of space between rigs. Tow cars are parked at the front of the sites-not in the sites so the views from your outdoor chairs are of nature instead of your toad. We stay here every summer and have in 12 years never had a bad neighbor or unpleasant experience. Several years ago the park tried to limit rigs to motorhomes but trailers continue to be found there sitting right next to class A rigs. This is a great park.
In the magazine ads and from the highway above this campground appears to be a lovely place to stay. We were very disappointed to drive into the grounds and find lots of dust and dirt. Only a few sites are special and these are $100 or more a night. Many of the sites were not level and we saw lots of attempts at trying to level rigs. Most looked as if leveling was not easy to achieve. We would not suggest a stay here and we would not go back.
