Although the park itself was mostly nice, we wouldn't go back. We were camping with others (4 campers in one spot, plus 2 more through the campground). It was pretty crowded where we were, towards the front in grassy spots. We had some problems with kids walking/bike riding through our site. Since it happened so much I wondered whether seasonal kids considered it "the norm." We also had our camper unplugged while we were at the pool. It did appear deliberate as the cord wasn't just laying next to the hookups, but looked like it was thrown back towards the camper. No, we didn't complain, as we figured there wasn't much the staff could do about it with no witnesses. However, we did take issue with the quiet hour enforcement. The roving watch warned us about quiet time about 20-30 minutes beforehand. He came back 10 minutes beforehand and gave us our "second" warning. I know we were talking a bit loud as there were about 10 of us, so I understand the need for a warning. However, I also observed this gentleman visiting the seasonal campers across from us who were loud and drunk (and had been drinking since mid-morning); he had no issue partaking in their festivities. Pick-and-choose enforcement bugs me! Otherwise, the pool was nice (but terribly crowded), and some of the wooded sites seemed much nicer than where we were. Friends stayed in a rental 5th wheel and it was well kept.

We definitely plan on going back! Ross Hill has friendly, helpful staff. There were lots of activities, announced throughout the day. Many kids (we don't have any), but we didn't see brats. The campground is on Aspinook Pond which makes it great for canoes, kayaks etc. The man-made swimming "hole" features a sand beach and filtered water - we loved it! Grounds are well kept; can't vouch for the restrooms as we didn't use them. Lots of different sites, some wooded, some along large grassy fields.

The 2005 review was right about the seasonal campsites - but unfortunately I didn't read RV Park Reviews before we booked! Many of the sites were not well-kept and the RVs were in disrepair. (I don't mean old, I mean falling apart!) The beach appeared OK but we didn't swim that weekend. The weirdest thing was what happened at night - I don't know where everyone went, but it didn't look like anyone was at their campers (even though many fires were left burning unattended) and we didn't find anyone congregated in common areas when we walked around. The seasonal campers didn't seem as friendly as other campgrounds we've been at.
