We stayed here Aug 2008 for three days. The site was large and pretty level, the rate was quite appropriate for the amenities (swimming pool, laundry, store, ping pong, TV room, bingo, pool table, exchange library, reading room, nightly group camp fire). The bathrooms were ultra-clean, the park was very well maintained and the staff was very helpful. We don't tow a car, the park owners were glad to drop all five of my family around to two local tourist attractions, and picked us up within 15 minutes of our calling for a ride back. There were on-site fishing and kayak guides, I spoke with both of them at length and found them very knowledgable, flexible, and friendly. We rented kayaks and were treated like royalty by all involved. Our visit was so favorable we would have stayed there again on the way home to CA the next week to fish, but mechanical troubles forced us to find another route home.
I'll say this: What did we expect for the rate? It was not expensive, and it is mostly a long-term resident park. The pool was clean, so were the restrooms, but I would not let my kids use them without an adult escort, as some of the people hanging around seemed frightening. We followed the sheriff into the park, it was not a social call, that should have been a sign. We won't stay here again.
We dropped in on our way south, never expected such a clean, well-run place in Gilroy. We found the pull-through site to be level, the staff was very helpful with our "after hours" arrival, and the facilities were very, very clean. My family agreed that we'd look forward to staying here again, for a longer period, as it's a very short walk to the outlet mall and some really great restaurants. Quite a great surprise.
