Very clean, nice staff, sites are close together. Seemed like about 80% of it was seasonal campers who aren't really warm and receptive, but I wasn't here to make new friends. I was here to fish and spend time with family. All sites are back in, just don't pick the wrong road or YOU WILL get stuck if you have a large RV. Ours is 40', almost took a wrong turn until a guy stopped us. Upside, it was very peaceful, you can smell the ocean air, you can walk to the beach and there is a tram that will take you into town right out in front. It would have received a higher rating if they knew how to control the seasonal campers who put fences and ropes up to "identify" their "claimed" property. Which clearly, on a lot of sites encroaches on rental sites. The seasonal folks also pile up all their unwanted items on the rental sites too. I really didn't need 3 picnic tables. Beyond that we will return, but I suggest you walk to the site and check it out before driving in, as I will do next time, for space purposes and parking ability.
Incredible camping. Super nice staff and meticulously groomed grounds. Awesome grassy green camping spots, right up the road from town. There is shopping, route 95, and Bangor international airport is 5 minutes away. The Air National Guard base has full services: BX, commissary, pay, personnel branch and medcom. I would highly recommend this campground to any RV'er, camper, tenter. It is worth WAY more than what they are charging per night. Plenty to do at the campground for kids and adults. Pet friendly. We will be returning.
Nice - Very Clean Park, Military,Disabled & Disabled Veteran Friendly. Staff is incredibly Friendly,Sites are very accessible and well groomed. They don't have any Water Sewer or electric hook ups, But do offer clean rest rooms, showers and Convenient Dump Station near the main entrance. Every site has picnic table and fire pit/ring, you can have a generator but if its not rate "quiet - 55 decibels or less you have to shut it off for sleepy time. Large field to enjoy games and other things, and it takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to Rocky Neck Beach. Great Location, Great Rate for the amenities, they would have gotten a 10 if they had water/sewer/power.
STAY AWAY - Unless you like white trash camping. First thing you notice when you drive up is Trash Everywhere and nothing is maintained. Level 2 FAIL = the Office/rec room/ arcade, The overwhelming smell of Cat urine will overcome you and burn your nose hairs. The bathrooms are not maintained or clean. Level 3 FAIL = the roads are washed out and very close to each other, close as if your neighbor farts in his camper, you will hear it. Level 4 FAIL = aside from having only grey water site disposal it is only set up at every other site, The water pressure is so poor we had to use our in coach pump to assist it. The Cable is sparse and poor reception more than likely due to the direct burial cable line that aren't meant to be. The power is a 30 amp hook up but obviously has a draw coming from the source because it never got to that in voltage by my tester and will not allow you to run a A/C if you wanted to without melting some wires. The elderly woman in her late 70's to early 80's that owns and runs it is obviously overwhelmed or doesn't realize the level of dilapidation that has happened to this once probably very nice campground. THE ONLY TAKE CASH, NO CREDIT CARDS OR CHECKS, Not worth the $40-$50 they are charging for a rate, more like $20-$25 is more realistic. "HAPPY CAMPING"
