This campground has a beautiful lake to fish and do water sports on. The sites are roomy and most of them have some cover. The toilets are clean, the showers were ok. There are no hookups of any kind. This campground is nice and quiet at night. The beach is nice and kid friendly. There is also a ski beach which keeps the boat traffic down on the regular beach. The campground is not too far away from Woodruff/Minoqua, which has plenty of great shops and good food.
This park is a national forest campground. We love this park as it is in the center of 2 lakes: Bass lake and Lake Owen. Lake Owen is 10 miles long with plenty of space for water sports and the fishing enthusiasts. The sites are spacious, but there are no hook ups of any kind. There are no shower buildings, no flush toilets, no camp store. You better bring everything that you need because the closest gas station is Drummond (5.5 miles) or grocery store in Cable (10 miles). These roads are the most winding and twisting roads around, not a trip you want to make too many times in one day!
What a great stay we had in Bayfield at AIA Campground!! Our first impression of the campground was very positive, as the grounds are very well kept. The hosts were most accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one. Our firewood was delivered to us, and this place has the best ice ever! The bathrooms had flush toilets and were very nice. The showers were hot and squeaky clean and well worth the few quarters it took to wash up! The campground was very quiet and we had the best sleep that we have had in a long time while out on the road. Bayfield itself is a quaint non-commercialized city with lots of things to do, there are many fun shops and really good food. A great time was had by the whole family.
