We spent three days and two nights at this campground and although it is expensive, it is definitely a fun, friendly park. Almost all activities except the pool have a fee. Our grandchildren enjoyed the pony rides, miniature golf, the pool and the waterpark. The FHU site we had, #207, was plenty big and had some nice shade. Although we were near the main road, the noise was not bad. The ice cream is great! The thing that kept the rating at 8 instead of a 9 (too expensive for a 10) was the huge amount of flies!!!! Absolutely overwhelming amount. We would visit again but bring a fly catcher!
We have visited Kieslers park several times over the last several years and do enjoy the park, especially during the week. This park is clean and friendly, but the weekends are very crowded. We even left early on a Saturday pm instead of staying til Sunday because it got very noisy and was so busy! We were not allowed to add a tent to our site but had to rent an E/W site for the tent in order for it to be near us. This was disappointing. Most campgrounds allow a small tent on the site for a nominal fee if you do not exceed the site limits of people. Otherwise, it is a great destination park with lots to do for kids right on site. Of course, it is far from any decent size city and 1.5 hrs to the Twin cities.
We just spent 5 nights at this park, just 6 miles from Mount Rushmore. The location is great but we had no cellphone signal anywhere in the area except on top of MT. Rushmore and in Hill City. Also the internet was down 6 of the 7 days we were there. They said they were working on it but it was very upsetting not to have it as we had chosen the park with that in mind. They also have a mandatory $6.00 a night resort fee for amenities whether you use them or not. Children are $4.00 per night each child on top of a very high base rate. The showers were clean but could have been cleaner. Most of the older staff was friendly and helpful but several of the younger staff at the concession stores acted as tho we were bothering them with our requests for coffee, change and food. We are returning next summer with our other grandchildren and will not be returning to this expensive campground that does not meet up to the quality we had expected and paid for.
We stayed at this RV Park (80 sites ) and loved it!! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with our TV reception in our RV and the staff spent a lot of time solving the problem. It turn out the problem was with our RV and not their signal. They even loaned us a TV cable to use during our entire stay. This is a real jewel of a park. The bathrooms are exceptionally clean and showers too. We will definitely return here next year.
