This is a beautiful Military campground. However, it is Not big rig friendly. The railroad track you have to cross once leaving the interstate scrapped the bottom of our motor home even while crossing it very slowly. The road in the campground is steep and windy with over hanging tree limbs. We could not get level on our site and did not put out the slides. It was a very uncomfortable night. We saw only two sites which might work for a big rig but driving through the campground is very difficult. The staff were very friendly on the phone; however, we received no warning as to the challenges of staying there in a big rig. The lake is very pretty and the campground appeared to be very well maintained. In a smaller rig this place would be ideal. Be aware, however, there is a lot of road noise from the interstate.
Rate reflects a Passport America rate. We enjoyed our stay here very much and greatly appreciated the warm welcome by the staff. They gave us good directions and helped us find a site which worked well for our rig. GPS is not accurate so be sure to call for directions. Most sites have nice views of the lake. Rental kayaks, bikes, and boats are available.
Our rate reflects a Passport America discount. We had a very pleasant stay at this campground. We were here in early spring and the pool had not opened yet but it looks really nice. There are several lakes and our pull thru site had a nice view. Staff were friendly. Our only complaint is the long road leading up and through the campground to your site is very dusty.
This campground is very run down and in sad shape. There are a variety of rigs, permanent trailers, and odd storage buildings. The sites were weedy and poorly maintained. After checking in we unhooked our jeep and drove over to our site. There was someone in it. We could not see a suitable site that would accommodate our 40' rig. We decided not to stay and received our money back. We would not recommend this campground.
