This is a great family park. Something for everyone to do or not do. Biking, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and more! I was a bit concerned about the sulfur scent from the springs, but it is barely noticeable and then only occasionally. Every staff member we encountered was very helpful. We will definitely stay at this park again and highly recommend it.
This is a great campground for overnight use, but I would NOT recommend it as a destination. The campsites are very close together; so close that I had to keep the shades drawn for privacy…we were just able to open the awning and the slides but our pull-through, lakefront, premium site was in a hole so we could not use our lawn chairs nor our outdoor kitchen. To be fair not everyones site was as bad. This KOA is located in a high traffic area so you can hear road noise and smell exhaust all day. All the sites have non movable ground level grill and are very close to the road; so close that if you used them for grilling any vehicle driving by, would get road dust on your food, any dog walking by has a free meal. The pool was closed and green, the activities were nonexistent. The club house was locked up and looked as if it hadn't been used in years. The "lake" is very sad, it is actually a duck pond.
Very nice campground, spent 3 days, staff very friendly and obliging. We notice while here, maintenance and improvements to the campground seem to be an ongoing, though in no way was this a problems. They seem to be very discreet and mindful of their guests. I would go again.
