Great State Park Campground. We have stayed here twice and will definitely go back. The staff is friendly and very helpful. There is nothing really to do at the campground besides hiking, but we love to just riding our bicycles around and look at all the other sites. You can also drive a couple of miles to the lake and there are boats and other things to do on the lake. This park is great for a short, quiet get away.
This campground was very nice. The staff is great and very helpful. We did the River tubing and had a great time, however we were not sure where to get off and missed our stop. It took us almost 45 minutes to walk upstream dragging 5 tubes so be sure to pay close attention, because there is no markings telling you exactly where to get off. A nice flag or sign would have been great for us that have never done it before. The pool is nice, the campground is very clean, and the new building is great. Lots of little flea markets, antique shops and craft fairs are close by. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at Ocean Lakes Feb 18-24th. We absolutely loved it. It is off season so it was not real busy, but we always managed to find something to do. The park is amazing, we loved just driving around on the golf cart, looking at all the houses and RV's. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When we first got there we had a problem with our cable, they were at our site to fix it before we even got back from the main office. The newly remodeled bathhouses are the best we have seen at a campground. They are very modern and clean. The store is very convenient and has pretty much anything you could need during your stay. There is also a Walmart just a few miles away. After driving around we were able to pinpoint what we thought were the best sites. Lot I46 has a full concrete lot, which is great for keeping sand and dirt out of your camper. Lots 2015 and 2030 have a great Beachfront view of the ocean. The sand bar is low here so you are able to get a clean view, and lot 2001 has a great view of a little pond, which is where we would choose next time. It does get windy up front near the beach which makes it hard to keep your awning out and also for a campfire, so take that into consideration. Overall we love Ocean Lakes and we will be sure to visit it again.
We LOVE this Campground. There is not a ton to do but theer is a small playground. The campground is super clean with a ton of different stites to choose from. From fully wooded to completely out in the open. Some spots are huge and there is a ton of space to play catch, run the dogs, or just let your kisd run around and have fun. The bathrooms are super clean. The staff was super nice as well. There were a ton of tenters while we were there but everyone was pretty much quiet. The best part of tehis campground is The State Park itself. I can't even begin to tell yo how much fun we had. The park is Amazing. If yo have never been, you are missing out. We will be going back next Spring as soon as the rainy season is over. I hear it does fill up quickly in teh warmer months so be sure to book a site or else it's first come first served.
This park is mostly seasonal campers so there are a LOT of ignorant people and kids that think they own the park. There are kids driving golf carts all times of the night, constantly yelling and waking us up. If you’re camping in a tent you get the worst spots in the park. They were so uneven that we had to ask to move, they did allow us to move over one site, but we and another couple had to put our tents on the same site just so we could be level. Now onto the bathrooms: GROSS. The toilets were all backed up and we had to leave the bathroom by the pool to go to the one at the main store. It was seriously gross also. There was hair all over the countertops and it looked like it has not been cleaned in weeks. The smell was horrible. No matter where we went in the park, there was joyriding in golf carts. We constantly had to keep our kids a safe distance from the road way. They need more security just to keep the kids in order since their parents don’t seem to care. We will not come back to this park.
