This is primarily a retirement park, and not very attractive to families with children. But rest rooms and laundry facilities are very clean, staff and residents are very helpful and friendly, and there are shaded spots available for short-term stays. If you reserve early, you should not have to park in the open field. The park is fairly quiet, yet located very close to The Villages, with nightly entertainment, a variety of restaurants, and plenty of shopping. We're stayed here a number of times and have never been tempted to seek a more attractive alternative for camping in the area!

We Love This Park! Great fishing, miniature golf, swimming pool, game room with video games and billiards, ping-pong, tubing in the Swannanoa River, gently hilly terrain for fitness walking. Weekend activities, including breakfast. Sparkling clean rest rooms and laundry. Friendly staff knowledgable of area, close to Western Carolina attractions, very near to one of America's most charming towns -- Black Mountain, also close to America's funkiest and artsiest town -- beautiful Asheville. Some noise from nearby train -- can be avoided by staying in a site "across the bridge". We've gone as much as two hours out of our way to stay in this park as often as possible!

Friendly, yet neglectful staff. Weekend activities. Helpful and quiet seasonal campers. Yet -- What a miserable experience! Although I don't hold campground management responsible for extremely wet weather, I do hold them responsible for mowing and mosquito control. We love the outdoor experience, yet most days we were confined to the indoors in order to avoid being eaten alive by mosquitoes!

This is a "destination campground" for us. Located near the heart of PA Amish country, it's very quiet, although there are occasional planned activities. Plenty for the kids to do; easy enough for adults who don't have kids to be located away from the noise! Owners very knowledgable about area activities. If you're into shopping, Prime Outlets are nearby. If you're into quaint downtowns, Volant and Mercer are like a step into the past. Homegrown vegetables are a short drive away; the yummiest home-baked bread imaginable is occasionally for sale at campground office. We camped here for several weeks in both 2004 and 2005
