Very nice clean campground. Stayed in site Q54, with friends (1 travel trailer and two fifth wheels). Sites were pretty level. Not much shade but they have planted trees. Plenty for kids to do. On site restaurant and ice cream parlor were good. This was our first time staying. Not well signed driving 443 to campground. Will definitely return.

It had been 7 years since we camped at Otter Lake. Finally returned and felt like we were stepping back in time. Everything was just as it was 7 years ago, clean, friendly and full of fun. Need to watch on the 7 mile ride on the local road. Very winding, bumpy, and somewhat narrow for trailers. Bathrooms/showers were clean. Did not use either pool but many others did. All roads are paved and sites are pretty level. Sites are pretty roomy and shaded. The lake is beautiful with canoe, row boat, paddle boat and kayak rentals. The only reason I gave an 8 rating is due to the narrow roads off the main road. Also, Wi-Fi and cell service are not good. Will definitely return again, only much sooner this time.

Staff was very friendly! CG was neat, clean and landscaped very nicely. Sites are long and pretty spacious. Security gates are present through out all entrances/exits. The CG also rents canoes and kayaks. We happened to camp at the CG when a huge storm hit in which the Juniata River was flooding. The staff took precautions and moved trailers to higher ground. They watched the river all night and day to insure everyone's safety. As others have previously mentioned, the train does run all hours of the day and night. If you are in a site on the river side, you will definitely hear it. I do not know how loud it is up on the hill. I love trains so it did not bother me but for those who want peace and quiet, camping on the river side is not for you. This was our first time, site unseen, and we enjoyed our stay. Juniata Winery was present on Saturday for free wine tastings and sales. Very good! Everyone was very friendly including seasonal campers. We would return definitely!

This was our first trip to Pioneer, unseen. The owners are absolutely wonderful and helpful. The entrance to the campground was a little questionable as it was not well signed along the way. It is very narrow too. Just follow the main road which will lead you right into the campground. You go through a portion of the campground in order to get to the office. Everyone is very friendly and the seasonals sites are all clean and well kept. The campground is close to World's End and Rickets Glen State Parks. Eagle's Mere is not far but there are not many shops as they claim. We would definitely return in the future! Very relaxing trip!

We enjoy camping here. We like the pull through sites on the hill near the pool. No sewer connection up here though, but very quiet. Most sites are shaded and spacious. The park is clean and everyone is very pleasant. A lot to do outside of it; Renaissance Fair, outlets, wineries, Green Dragon Flea Market etc. Also, off season it is very cheap to keep your trailer on site for a week. Loved going up the next weekend and not having to tow the trailer.

We love camping at this campground. The sites are very spacious and shaded. We camp up on the hill. The pull thrus below are very few and in with the seasonal sites. Not much privacy at all with everyone walking by to the rec hall, pool and store. Not very shaded there either. Everyone is very very nice who work for the campground. They have it all together for Friday night check in with escorts to help you navigate and park the trailer. There is also plenty to do outside of the resort as well. Wineries, outlets etc. We camped in a travel trailer.

Over the past two years we have camped here several times a year. We have camped along Horseshoe Drive, and up in the pull through sites. We thoroughly enjoy the pull through sites (water/electric only). Nice, quiet and spacious. On the weekends they have ample activities. This weekend was Critter Weekend with a pet parade and contest along with a reptile show and Mill Creek Search & Rescue Demo which we learned a lot! The staff is very friendly, along with the seasonal campers. We will definitely return!

We enjoy this campground very much! We camped up on the hill. Very quiet and sites are a very nice size. Fifth wheels camped up there as well. If you like quiet and lots to do, this campground has it! Up on the hill is quiet and away from all the hustle and bustle of the pool and activities but yet you are close to enjoy them as well. The campground offers golf cart rentals too. We will return again!!
