Stayed here over the July 4th weekend. Campsite was crowded but people were nice. Sites are very small and they cramped sites in wherever they could. Friends specifically told them they had a 30' camper with slide and when they got their site they could not put the awning out with the slide out. When trying to get resolution at office we were told all they would do is refund money and we could leave. The power for the camper was nailed to a tree and needed plugged in on the awning side of the camper right in front of the door. Was not thrilled with the sites at all and the poor attitude of the staff in trying to resolve. In fact their was another person in there because they were misquoted a price and they would not honor it. It is close to a lot of attractions but I will look else where if I go back down to the area again.
Stayed here once before and enjoyed it. It is quiet and smaller. We stayed at sites by 2 cabins and liked them a lot. The only complaint I would have is that the hookups were clear at the front of the site for w/e/c. This made it difficult to reach. The sewer hookups were awesome though. I wish more campgrounds would do sewer hookups like this. Will go back again.
The park was OK. The bathrooms were cleaned daily but the way the had the toilet paper locked up on the rolls, it created a mess by trying to unwrap it to use and ended up all over the floors. The hookups were way to far away from the trailer. The sewer hookup especially. I was about 20' away and it was uphill. The connection was also sleeved and I had absolutely nothing to fit and neither did the camp store. We were in a bit of a mud hole because it had rained a lot before we got there and one day we were there. They do have a nice playground and pool. Also lots of activities for the kids. Be prepared because they strictly enforce their quite hours (11 PM to 8 AM). Not that that is a bad thing but it is pretty much lights out and absolutely no music even if it cannot be heard beyond your campfire area. I would stay again but would not be my first choice for the area.
The campground is ok. There are a very large number of seasonals and some of them were not very friendly. The sites are very tight but that seems to be a common issue with a lot of campgrounds. Just hope you have a friendly neighbor because you are in their living room most of the stay. The bathrooms were decent and fairly clean. The pool was great and so was the playground for the kids. The site was level but tailed off pretty well in the back. This created problems for me since my stabilizers are clear in the back and I have to put a lot of blocking under them to set them. The sewer connection stuck out of the ground quite a bit and since mine sits low it was a bit of a problem. You had to pay for wifi and we did not have cable but you did get about 12 stations over the air. I wanted to be closer to the battlefield but we were not all that far ~3mi but it made it impossible to ride bikes up to it. The staff was friendly and we had no problems there. If we do go back we will probably try to stay somewhere closer.
We have stayed here several times. It is a nice clean state park. The restrooms were very well kept. Very friendly staff. We had electric hookups but no water or sewer hookups. Filled up at park entrance dumped when leaving park. They do have a dump station. Lots of hiking and biking to do. OK camp store. They have camp hosts to help you out with any problems with the park. We will stay again.
This was our first trip here. We were put on the side of a hill that was difficult to get into. They put us into a site that was occupied by someone else. We were moved to a new site but it was not made for our 30' travel trailer. We had a difficult time backing in as we had to pull up a steep hill and bottomed out trying to cut in. We had no water pressure (nor did anyone else around us) and two campers on each side of us lost power. The staff was quick to respond but disappointing none the less. The pool was not heated because a part was on order. The fishing was terrible after paying extra to be allowed to fish in stocked ponds. I don't feel they were stocked as no one saw it get stocked. You pay for everything extra here. Considering the price of the site I think this was a little extreme. When we left we had a very difficult time getting out because of a hill, sharp turns and trees right on the edge of the turns. We were lucky to have some nice campers across from us and they pulled out with their pop-up so we could drive through their lot to get out. This site was not made for our size trailer. We gave them all of that information when we booked. I liked the activities for the kids but it was expensive. The bathrooms were crowded and dirty and I was disappointed. There are a lot of seasonal sites and they do keep you separated, which is nice. Had some wonderful neighbors on this trip but did not like the sites at all. The staff just didn't seem like they were prepared for the holiday weekend. If I do stay again it will be on the lower end as the top side is on a steep hill. You will be away from the pool and playground but by the lakes, golf, and paddle boats. The lower end has small trees so not much shade but it is level and easier to get in and out. But be prepared as the storage lot is there also and they do have a large amount of trailers stored.
