Wonderful park for a visit to valley and Tribal Park. Check-in is efficient and cordial. Sites are level and water, sewer, and 30/50 amp electric is good. Our site had bad cable connection and was not fixed during our stay; although I managed to do it myself with a barrel connector to replace theirs. Nice walk above the campground to hidden arch in morning; a couple hundred metres at most and easy. Bathrooms and shower always seemed to be spotless; although listed cleaning times are only once a day. Security at gate for late night egress and ingress. Did not use the restaurant, but did enjoy the Stagecoach movie and history of Goulding's and its relationship with Hollywood.
Absolutely love this campground and it's location, size of campsites and separation from neighbors. Our second visit here in as many years. The laneways are paved around the campsite and the gravel pads are mostly level. In our two stays, last year and this we chose a back-in adjacent to highway. Some have complained of noise; however we never found it an issue as we were away in the park all day and at night road traffic is very little and does not bother us. Only toilets provided and fresh potable water hydrants are very convenient. There is also a dump station and fresh water hookup by the entrance that was free for campers. Ourselves we dumped after our visit and replenished our fresh water. Madison River is next to campground and sites along the river although open are very nice. Campground hosts are very friendly and helpful. Sites have fire pits and wood may be purchased from the hosts. Location is just a few miles north of the town of West Yellowstone...
A place to park the trailer and sleep between forays into Arches and Canyonland National Parks. Entire site is gravel and dusty; including the site access roads. Really tough to keep your unit clean inside or out with all the traffic. Showers, for all my visits seemed to be just barely acceptable. Stalls are individual and small, but most importantly regardless of when I went there the water could not even be considered tepid. Washrooms are okay. Campground hosts are friendly and helpful and it's store is one of the best stocked I have ever seen; and the prices seem to be fair.
This is the first RV "Resort" campground we have visited that uses the term "Resort" and I think applies. The resort staff are beyond accommodating and helpful. Having made a reservation to arrive on a set date we had to call early in the afternoon to cancel due to a breakdown. Staff were so helpful to reschedule our arrival to coincide with our expected arrival so we would not lose our one night deposit. As it happened, the breakdown only held us up for 5 hours and they juggled us around and even had a host wait for our late arrival. Showers and lavatories are huge and immaculate. Great for families. Whatever time I used them I can say they were clean; not just after the morning clean-up! Swimming pool, Hot Tub were wonderful. Always clean and the hours of operation were until 10PM. Great after a day out. The front desk hosts are very knowledgeable of the area and facilities and recreation opportunities. We used several of their recommendations for hikes in the area and were not disappointed. The only recommendation for the site is to install both a clock and thermometer at the pool, but perhaps like Vegas, when you get there they want to keep you! Do remember to bring a pressure regulator for your water. But you do not need to worry about leveling your unit. The parking pads are wide, concrete and level in all directions. Cable TV has more channels than I ever need and WiFi was fast and always available.
Gros Venture was our last resort; however very glad we lucked out here. Close to the hiking and things we wanted to do; and easy driving to catch the things up at Coulter Bay area. Large campsites in the area. Park is currently undergoing renovations and installing electric at a number of sites. We had a newly renovated site; huge, and paved pad and parking area, with electricity, fire pit and picnic table. Site was level fore and aft and left to right, a bonus. Washrooms were immaculate with running water but no soap provided and only cold water. Hosts were very friendly and informative about things to see and do. Only drawback is the price of $46 per night; but like everywhere in the Jackson area bring money!
