First of all, we could not find the office because it was in a strip mall on the main road. Then we could not locate our site. When we finally were guided to it, it was loose larger gravel. Our tow dolly basically has to plow through it when I backed into the site. Most of the units were perms and not in the greatest condition. Intersections all seems to have this vicious gully in them that scraped the bottom of most vehicles who passed through them. $30 was a ridiculous price for one night in a run-down trailer park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is our sixth stay here over the past two years as I have attended an executive doctoral program at UAB. The park is primarily a trailer park that accommodates RVs. There are a lot of students and working folks who I have found to be very friendly as I have literally stayed all over the park. This park is closest to town and the traffic is a breeze compared to Oak Mountain State Park, the other alternative. I have found the staff to be very accommodating and the sites are all level and extremely large compared to typical RV sites. We will definitely return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a permanent resident park with a few open sites that they rent out for shorter stays. We stayed here one night and it was pretty convenient to Birmingham, quiet and reasonable. Don't expect any interaction with neighbors or social life. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
No Wi-Fi. This is a mobile home community but RV's are welcome and they do have room among the resident homes. It is a nice place to stay if you are having work completed at Cummins Mid-South as it is only about 6 miles from the shop. The lady in the office is very accommodating on the check out time and she will work with you. It is located on Carson Road and you have a hard time finding the office. Just pull into the gas station and look for the office on the far end my laundromat. If you are looking for a good place to eat just go North of Carson Road on Hwy. 79 for about half a mile on your left side of the road. A small hole in the wall but they serve good BBQ. I would use this mobile park if in the area again and had to stay over to have work done at Cummins. We camped here in a Motorhome.
