Dumpy campground. Was worth just about what I paid. Wi-Fi not available at my rig. The road into the campground is difficult but passable for a big rig. Nice open field with baseball diamond, basketball court and volleyball court. The areas for the permanent or seasonal guests were trashy but not seen by the campground area. This campground is also under major earthwork renovation. Small lake with beach...I would not like to swim in it. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped here under Passport America rates. The entry roads are in need of some grading but are not the worst we have used. The sites are a little short for large units but they do have a few sites that will work for a 40 foot rig. The WiFi did not work at our site but our Verizon signal was very strong so we used that for the internet. There are many seasonal sites that could use some cleaning up. We probably would not camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
On the weekends, do you like to party until the wee-hours, play loud music, all while intoxicated? Then this place is for you! We pulled into this campground on a Saturday around lunchtime. The woman working the office/store was incredibly nice but not well informed regarding the campground. All questions put before her were answered, “I’m not sure” or “I don’t know”. We were first directed to a site that was about 10 feet too short for our unit, then we were told to just choose something and comeback and tell her as she didn’t know the site sizes. The site we choose was level and ours was “roomy”. All the sites around us looked level and spacious. We stayed across from the playground/volleyball/basketball court, all of which we thought were a nice touch for our three children. We soon learned that it was not. About two hours after our arrival a truck pulled up, out jumped a group that played volleyball, while drinking and loudly using foul-language. Our children tried several times to use the playground during our stay, each time to return due to constant cursing from all ages. Once the sun went down there we parties all over this campground; loud music, lots of yelling, and lots of drinking until the early morning hours. By Sunday evening, we were blessed to have an entire row to ourselves. All the party people had packed up and gone home, but unfortunately, they left all their trash on their sites, which remained there until Monday afternoon and on some sites, Tuesday. The beach here isn’t very nice and there are leeches in the lake. The campground has approximately 125 seasonal sites in addition to the 28 for travelers. The seasonal sites are interesting, because most have permanent wooden additions to their campers. Some of the permanent units are well kept and others are not. There are a few pluses here: although the showers were not always clean, I did like the unisex building. As a female, I often wait in line for a shower in the woman’s room. Here, you walk into a building and they have well divided, completely closed off, individual showers. My family (five of us) never waited for a shower. The other plus is the campground is nicely located close to the Kancamagus Highway and North Conway. The campground was a good price, especially if you are Passport America member. However, depending on how you look at it, this could be a “you get what you pay for” situation. Note: there is quite a decline into a right hand turn after passing through the entrance gate, then an equally challenging incline at the exit gate. The motion-censored gate, of course, is located right at the peak of the incline requiring a bit of pre-planning on the exit. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Upon entering the campground it seemed very nice. The lady at the office very nice until the owner came in and started yelling at everyone!! Not professional. The owner was rude and annoying. Almost left then, but the kids wanted to stay. Then, after entering our site which was not bad and had good space, the drunks came out of the woodwork. This is the worst campground ever for people driving crazy on their golf carts: noise all night, drunks walking around all day and night, they never stop. The store had nothing in it but beer. When complaining to the "owner" she was rude and not interested. Would not recommend this place at all. Later, I saw in the news that someone had died drunk in a golf cart accident here. This is not a campground, it's an outdoor bar full of miserable drunks and horrible owners. We camped here in a Motorhome.
