I'm crazy about this little park. It's like a rain forest in the middle of the mountains. Always damp here and very shaded. The outhouses are not great and you can forget about showers. But if you're looking for scenic (bubbling stream runs through middle of campground and you can set up right on it) then look no further. A great alternative to Unicoi State Park which of course has all of the amenities. We camped here in a Tent.

This is a small primitive campground in the Chattahoochie National Forest. It is open from mid June to some time in the autumn. Flat level pads for tents and camp fire rings. There is room for parking at your site. There are restrooms but didn't use them. There is no electrical or water hookups and there is no drinking water. The campground's biggest selling points is that is right off route 75 which is the main drag. (Then again with the motorbikes and trucks down shifting it can be potentially noisy.) It's also in deep shade which is priceless in the summer. There's a creek passing through the campground. Downsides are that there may not be anyone else there and bears are reportedly active in the area. Unless of course, you like bears. All in all a basic campground convenient to many of the sites in the area. It's first come, first served. There's no reservations and payment is through honor boxes. We camped here in a Tent.
