This park is a pleasure. The manager seemed to be continually working to keep this grass covered park in top shape. There is a free dump at the park. The manager even offered us the key if we wanted to use the dump before our very early departure on Sunday morning. Kaslo is a charming little town close to Ainsworth Hot Springs. Our space was an easy in and out for our 50' long truck and travel trailer. The park is bordered by the lake and a nice city park. We stayed two extra days and will choose it again. The management and camp cleanliness both rate a 10. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The RV park is very small and it is like a parking lot with grassed sites, wooden tables with a fire ring and electrical supply post that only allows for only one of the two adjacent sites to use the 30Amp service while the next rig can only use the 15Amp. So if it gets hot and you need air conditioning you are out of luck because the rule is "first come gets the 30 Amps" The best thing about this park is the location beeing so close to the "one and only" Front Street for groceries and window shopping. The lake is cold and there is no real beach for the swimming folks. Nothing is truly organized and outstanding to memory. The park host is nice and does a fine job directing trafic and looking after the grounds and facilities. The WiFi was the best we have ever had in any location. Flying fast. The washrooms were brand new and nice. Shower is 1 Canadian Dollar for 4 minutes. No laundry, no pool no excercise room and not much else. Park and play. Good enough for a couple of nights if you have to be in this area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Upon arrival we had to pick a site as caretaker was not home (even though a sign said to see her first). Most of the sites are grass back-ins with little privacy in between. The campground has a view of the lake, but is at least 100 ft away from the shoreline. Power and water worked fine. No sewer, but sani dump available nearby for an extra $5 and caretaker has to unlock it. No cable TV, but satellite TV worked fine from our site (#21). Wi-Fi signal was good. Within walking distance of the village and the SS Moyie. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an excellent campground with an excellent hostess. You can request overflow and camp on the lake shore. Considering this is in the city, it is a completely quiet campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Small park right on the edge of downtown Kaslo. Next to city park with playground and across the street from Kootenay Lake public access. Free showers. Dump station nearby ($5.00) We camped here in a Motorhome.
