This small campground is in a very convenient location in Clinton. We loved the senior rate. You can drive a short distance to get the Metro at Branch Station, which will take you into the D.C. area. You pick your site here and then go out of the campground, down the road and through another part of the park to register. It is not a short walk. The water hookup was in an odd spot, but the water was good, as was the 30 amp electric. The heavily wooded sites were partially paved but most were super small. Roads were paved also. There is plenty of privacy. We picked up many local antenna TV stations. The bathrooms were unacceptable & beyond being able to be really clean. They need to be gutted & totally redone. The men’s shower was so bad that men were using the only women’s shower, which is secured with only a shower curtain. The dump station was a very odd mechanism and the tank overflowed once we began the process of dumping. It was beyond awful. The bathroom and dump station problems pull this rating way down. We will look for another solution next time unless the bathrooms are redone. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Front office staff friendly. Recently remodeled/paved sites, although bathroom was a carryover from before the remodel. Many sites not level, and would be difficult for an RV to get level. Some sites were RV friendly, with a couple of pull-thru sites sprinkled in. Park was consistently patrolled by park police. We visited at the end of March, and the grounds were being cleared up in prep for spring / summer. The road in/out and the loop were tight. My biggest ding would be the men's bathroom, which is disintegrating along one wall due to a major water leak into the wall. I used the women's bathroom, as it had a recently remodeled shower. We used this as a low cost base of operations for a DC visit. We'd drive 5 miles to the Branch St station of the metro. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The price is the senior rate. The park is tight but very nice. It's very close to the city. I was bit bit concerned about safety but we had no trouble. You can't reserve a site. Make sure to ask about the check in procedure when you go. We had to choose a site then go to the office. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
