As usual we really enjoyed staying in this park. We watched the Pelicans put on quite a show on the ocean, which is right in front of our site. Wi-Fi was only available if you parked very near the office. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Road construction made the entrance a little confusing, but after a day or so had it down pat. We stayed for a week and enjoyed every day. Trains make it a bit noisy, but was tolerable for us. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

An amazing place! If the sites were any closer to the ocean they'd be underwater. Fabulous views, literally on the beach or for some sites, 30 feet off the beach. Winter special rate of $30 a night for full hookups. A little noisy from the freeway and trains, but overall a wonderful place to stay. Not much to do nearby, but with the ocean as your front yard, who cares? Very highly recommended. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of a few nice long stretches of few natural beaches left on the coast of California, where you can camp right on the ocean. Camping and RV aside, San Onofre is all about surfing. Not much good for casual swimming as there are rip tides and can be strong currents, but for surfers it is heaven. Long boards rule here and if you aren't a surfer but can appreciate the beautiful natural beauty here: you are in luck. Stroll the beach and you are likely to meet surfing legends who flock here for the great long rides. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We've stayed here before, and every year the rate goes up but the facilities stay the same. Still, based on location alone, it's an exceptional place to stay - where else can you get full hookups on the beach? As always, the office staff was friendly and professional, and even called us to tell us they could change us to a better site. The sites in the old, and better section, get progressively sloped as the numbers ascend, so try to get a site below number six to get one that's level. The coastal commuter train runs behind the sites, but noise is only a slight distraction as nights are quiet. Verizon cell and 3G Aircard worked well, and there are clear views of DirecTV and Dish satellites. There is no cable of Wi-Fi in the park. Convenient to I-5, there is an adequate commissary nearby, and a gas station with diesel that is well below the off-base sites. No weekly or monthly rate, so it can be pricey for a lengthy stay. Overall, well worth the price; we'll stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for a week and loved it. Its half way between Disneyland and San Diego, so it was a great location for all the places we wanted to go on our vacation. Being so close to the beach was fabulous. The playgrounds and Park Recreation areas were great. The streets were quiet, so my children could ride their bikes. The bathrooms were a little old and rundown, but they kept them clean. They have a small laundry facility. It was very convenient to have the exchange and commissary close by for anything we needed. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We camped here right on the ocean. You have to be active military or retired military to camp here. Beautiful crescent beach. We could see the ocean, dolphins, surfers from inside our coach. We had great weather in March. If you can get in I recommend staying at this park. Sites are back in. I had no problems with our 42' motor home here. A bit of noise with some parting on Sat night. Not bad. Very nice children play area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
