Parker Dam State Park is a few miles north of I-80 between Clearfield and DuBois. This dam was CCC built and there is a small CCC museum. Fishing, boating and lots of hiking tails. Camping sites currently have only electric hookups, but PA is installing full hook-up sites in many of their state parks and they are planned for this park. Campsites are behind the lake with no lake views, but you can walk or bike to the swimming area. Lots of cabin rentals on the "front" side of the lake, but again no lake view. Showers were old but functional and fairly clean. Nearby neighbors were quite loud one time we stayed, but other times have been very quiet. The star of this SP is most definitely the lake. It has a big sandy beach with a swimming area perfect for young children. The area enclosed by the buoys does not exceed 5' depth and the slope is very gradual. There are nearby picnic tables and pavilions and a small snack bar making this an ideal day excursion. The playground is new but no shade there. There is no charge for the daytime use of the lake area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed one night while passing through and this was just about the only campground open in this part of PA in late October. The loop road was narrow which made backing in a bit challenging, but the site was OK. From what we could tell, it seemed like a beautiful park with a nice beach on the lake and the campground was in a very wooded area. Not a lot of privacy, but great for a multi-site group. We were in the pet area, which was about 1/4 of the campground. Our rate reflects the senior discount with the non-PA resident uplift. We camped here in a Motorhome.

State Park is beautiful. CG is more like a parking lot. There are shade trees between sites but little to no privacy from site to site. Site #2 is the nicest site by far. If you go,don't forget a canopy because you will be in the sun some or most of the day. As I said the park is really nice with a clean beach and nice lake. There are some really nice trails for hiking too. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
