Most of the residents were full timers working in the area. The landscape is littered with rubbish. The roads and sites are all dirt that get very muddy when it rains. There is a diner up front with WI-FI access and a small store that sells food, RV supplies, and sundries. The laundry room has 3 washers/3dryers and the cost is $1.25 per load of laundry (to wash and dry). This park is isolated in West Odessa but has easy I-20 access. Water is supplied by a water tower, and we did lose water for about 12 hours while I stayed there. Management is working on improvements to the park, and the surrounding area including getting WI-FI to the park and increasing the number of sites. I stayed at this park for a week until I could get a site another park in the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
My husband and I moved here for the oil boom and did not know where all the campgrounds were. The ones we did call were booked up. I found Western Sky online, called and she took my deposit over the phone to hold the spot for us. When we pulled in to this place, all we saw was TRASH, DRUNKS and STRAY ANIMALS!! We both looked at each other and at the same time said, "We have to find another RV park". We ordered a burger in the front cafe. (Although we are smokers) the person cooking was smoking a cigarette while making our burger. We have two small chihuahuas that we stand outside with when they go to the bathroom, but had to go outside first and inspect the place to make sure there were no stray animals to come and attack our pets. There were 3 washers and 3 dryers; 3 washers worked and only 1 dryer worked. The campers are butt to butt with maybe 2 foot between each of them, and every evening we would hear talking, laughing, yelling, etc. from people standing outside drinking their beers. We stayed for 6 days, just long enough to get another RV park. I guess we did have electricity. I wouldn't recommend this place unless it was the last place Odessa had open!! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
