Great base camp for touring the Boston area, close to Lexington/Concord. Campground is divided, with sites in the open, which seemed to be longer term, and those in the wooded area. We had a full hook-up site in the trees which was a little un-level, with a lot of tree roots. No fire ring, but there was a community fire ring which was centrally located. The gentleman in the office was extremely helpful and friendly. Bathroom/showers were clean & modern, and there were 4 laundry machines. While there are no military planes stationed at the base, there is a lot of noise from the commuter jet & small planes as you are only a few hundred yards from the runways. Considering the rate & location, We would probably stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very happy with this campground. Manager, he was extremely friendly, park was fairly neat. Close enough to Boston and Concord to be very convenient for sightseeing. They have wooded lots and concrete pads. We chose one of he back wooded lots for the ease of our mini Doxie to go out and play. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice park. Would have given a higher rating, but we were parked in the area under the trees, thus roof mount satellite would not work and acorns dropping continuously from trees sounded like incoming. Road to get to park had a lot of low hanging trees, thus dinging the top of coach. Office staff very friendly and helpful, but apparently not a pet lover. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Adequate campground near Boston. Campground was orderly with the grass mowed and cared for. The office staff were helpful and had a nice 'Welcome' pitch that included how to get the base, local shopping and access to the metro into Boston. The campground is 1/2 wooded and 1/2 in the open which makes satellite TV viewing iffy. We had no trouble getting quite a few TV channels off our digital antenna. 50 amp is nice, camp sites are level. For the first few days we were among the trees so we could not deploy our canopy but it was no issue. The grounds have a tent for group gatherings and also hosts a bike ride down the nearby bike trail on Fridays. Nice touch. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Really great place to see Boston from. Hookups all in very good repair, 46 of the sites are full hookups. Laundry and Propane on site. Well maintained grounds, strong Verizon hotspot reception and good television reception. Ten minutes from Minuteman National Park, and very convenient to I-95 (about 5 minutes) It is on a very busy airfield with a good amount of jet noise (Gulfstreams/Learjets). It didn't bother us, but just be aware of it. The approach is through a very residential area, but look for the FamCamp signs and the road dead-ends into the FamCamp. It is set outside the main base, so you do not have to actually go on the base to get to the FamCamp. PX/Commissary 10 minutes away. They do not take reservations, but pride themselves in never turning anyone away. No better deal than this in the Boston area, would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
