This is a very nice park and there is plenty of room for the children to run around and play. The bath house and restrooms were clean. The only downside is the distance from most campsites to the lake. The park's staff was very helpful. The park was very quiet and plenty of shade trees are available. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We drove 6 hours to go to this park. It was ok. The staff was good but seemed indifferent to the world. It was a good park with plenty to do for the kids. The waterslide is broken, so do not make a trip just for that. The pool is jam packed with people. To many for our liking. The Lake was a red clay lake so everything we wore was stained red afterwords. All in all it was an OK time. I just wish the slide had worked and the lake was not red mud/clay. The goofy golf was a very nice touch and was one of the better things to do. There are lots of residents here, 3/4 of the park maybe. Some dirty looks from them as they drove past in their golf carts. Strange place, nice park. Not sure if we will be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
There are some permanent campers here but they keep the area presentable. The sites are just grass, but some are quite roomy. In February, when we went, we felt like we had the whole campground to ourselves. Has areas to walk and explore and a nice playground for kids. Fishing is available in lake with a license. Cell service was good. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a nice campground. The sites are not level and there is no reasoning around the site layouts. The pool and water slid are an additional $7 per person. The campground sits in a public county park with no entrance fee so there are non-campers in and out of the restrooms at all times. The beach area on the lake is also free/public access. However, the boat launch is great and free and we carried our boat. We would camp here again. (The $11 rate is based on a monthly rate of $330 per month.) We camped here in a Motorhome.
There was no TV reception, but site was reasonably level and area clean. In spite of no alcohol or loose pets, there were both. However, they were no problem and we found the park quite nice. The pool looked lovely, but it didn't seem to be open during our stay (2 nights). We would return if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We didn't get started off good here. The attendant marked all the reserved sites on a map and told us to just set-up in any available site and then come back to pay. After doing just that, we were then informed that the site we were on was supposed to be occupied. Since it was reserved, they made us hook back up and move! That was a first for us. The site we ended up on was not even close to level - front to back. However, it was the most level out of about 10 remaining full hook-ups. The sites are very close together. Shading is very limited. The lake area, about 0.5 miles away, is very nice. There is a water slide and pool, but we didn't use those since they cost and we didn't have enough time to justify the cost. We would probably stay here again only if passing through. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Fishing equipment and bait are provided free to
children. The campground is very clean and well kept. Campsites are all shaded but could stand to be a little larger. Campground is owned and operated by
the county of Cullman. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
