This park was the perfect location for visiting both the Mt. Rushmore area and Deadwood. Even though it was located adjacent to a highway, it was very quiet and peaceful. This is an older park and has quite a few sites, however, the owner indicated they will be removing every other site to allow for even more space between rigs. As it was, there were not many rigs, which gave us an abundance of room! Sites are grass, which the dog loved. We were concerned about the wet ground and the weight of our motorhome causing a problem, but all was fine. We would gladly stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were only going to stay here for a few nights but felt so welcome and relaxed that we extended. The park is under new management as of May 2013, and the young couple and their family are working very hard to upgrade and beautify the facilities. The sites are all grass, and ours was plenty big enough to fit our 40 foot 5 th wheeler with 4 slides. All hookups worked well. The park is in a little valley just off Highway 385, and there was a little noise, but what else could we expect the week before the Sturgis Bike Rally. Having said that, it was nice and quiet at night. The location is perfectly situated between all the hot spots in the area - ie Deadwood, Lead, Sturgis, Mt Rushmore, etc. There is a great little general store on site which sells all the essentials and some nice little souvenirs. There are plenty of level, fully grassed tent sites and every site has a wooden picnic table and fire ring. (You can purchase fire wood from the store). We would definitely recommend staying here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
