This is a very nice military campground. A maximum stay of 6 months is allowed and the pull thrus are reserved for the long term campers. There are some back in sites reserved for short term campers and there were sites available the entire time we were there. No trees in the campground courtesy of Katrina. There is lots of noise from the nearby rain track and there must be some sort of emergency services just outside the base because the siren noise was frequent. If you are noise sensitive, you may not like this campground. Office staff was very friendly and helpful. You can enter the pass gate with no issues but departed using the commercial gate because we had more swing room to get through the barriers. Bathrooms and laundry have combo locks so make sure you get the codes from the office. Free wifi is available but you have to enter loads of information and we just used our Verizon mifi which had an excellent signal. We will return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a military RV park located on the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport, MS. The original campground was destroyed by Katrina. The new location is much easier to get into and out of. Located just off the Pass Road entrance. Office personnel are friendly and helpful. Pet rules are enforced. The distance from the rail service and roads makes for restful sleeping. Although no trees for shade, there are none to damage your rig if there is a storm. Long term stays are now limited to 6 months with 1 month out makes for better availability for short timers. Great park overall. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
