We were the first overnight stayers at this park. The park is still very much under construction at the time that we stayed in June. That fact certainly influences our opinion about the camp. While we were there, they were dumping huge loads of gravel, starting at 7:30 in the morning and then grading the gravel all day long. The sites we stayed in were close together but would be OK with some plantings in between. The sites back up to another camping place that is not as nice and the addition of a big wall of trees would be so helpful in terms of separating this very nice park with the one behind it, which is not so nice at all. There are cabins that are amazingly pretty - so well done, nice taste, complete and new and sparkling. When we were there, the restrooms and laundry and showers were not done. It said on the web site that there were showers and laundry, but that will come down the road, I'm sure. The best thing about the park is an amazing huge dock that is great for boats and fishing and swimming. Our dogs jumped off the dock over and over swimming after toys. The owners let the dogs go free since were were pretty much the only ones there and that was great fun for them and we appreciated it. We expressed some disappointment over all the construction and lack of a laundry and they gave us a free night which was very generous. In the future, they are going to have RV sites up on a hill over the resort which will be just gorgeous. With full hookups, I could see paying $50 for those. But $50 for the sites they have now seems really steep compared to the prices we pay all over the US. The north woods is exceptional in its own way, but if I owned this place, I would charge $30 or $35 for the lower sites and maybe $45 or $50 for the upper sites that are still coming. The reservation lady (wife of the owner and likely half owner) was very friendly and funny and made us feel welcome in advance. The man who owns the resort also got us all set up for fishing and even picked us up a batch of minnows. Currently, they have a 4 PM check in time and a 9 AM check out time. That is so far out of touch with what other parks do, I can't imagine that they will keep that schedule. We were able to stay later but only because there was no one else there. This must certainly change. This place just needs time to grow into itself. I believe it will be fantastic. Right now, they might want to wait a bit to open officially until a few more things have been completed. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
