Beautiful setting. Kids had a great time playing at the river and checking out the exhibits at the Visitor's Center. We saw deer roaming the park nearly every day. Fairly well stocked general store, but lots of "stuff". If you have the ability, take your bikes because they have a wonderful bike and walking trail. Make sure you fill your fresh water tanks before you set-up camp, they do not have water at the sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful park, it has a lot to offer, a small store, restaurant, canoe rentals and more. The sites are nice. We had 119, a very nice site. The St. Francois River is within walking distance, is crystal clear and so refreshing. My biggest complaints are the host and staff. We got here on a Friday about 5PM. We did not even see the host till late the next morning, than he had an attitude. One of our friends got in about 8:30. Their reserved site had someone else in it when they arrived. They talked to the host, who wasn't happy to be awakened, than not helpful to resolve the matter. The restrooms and showers were closed and cleaned from 8-9 or 10 AM. This should be done earlier than 8-9, when people are getting ready to go on a 10AM float trip. However, we had a good time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in campground 1. This is one of the most beautiful parks I have ever seen. The mature trees in and around the park are amazing. The sites were each quite large. It was well-kept, the hosts were very friendly and helpful and it has great hiking and bike trails. The only downfall to this park was the shower-house. It was the worst I've ever seen. The stalls were completely covered in mold. It looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. If it wasn't for the shower house, this park would be a 10. We liked it enough that we will try again in the future and hope that the showers are in better shape. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

It's a great campground in a great state park. There are numerous hiking trails and a well-stocked store near the campground. The lodge is also an excellent place to eat. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here at the beginning of the season and practically had the whole campground to ourselves. There was a group of RVers who came in over the weekend, but we still felt we had plenty of privacy. We stayed in campground 2, but liked some of campground 1 sites. We asked if we could switch sites, but they said we wouldn't get our other reservation money back even though campground was virtually empty. Level concrete pads for RV parking. There's a nice bike path connecting the two campgrounds, a camp store with firewood, a restaurant (we didn't eat there), laundry facilities, a nature center and nature talks. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Like many Missouri state parks, the sites in this campground are a little close together in some areas. My neighbor's fire ring was about 8 feet directly behind my trailer. I also had trouble with the 30 amp outlet, but the 20amp side of the pole worked fine. The park itself is beautiful and the campground settings are especially nice. We enjoyed the excellent hiking trails and fishing in the St Francois river. Next time we'll bring bicycles as they have a very nice bike path connecting the grounds with other areas of the park. This park has a nice visitor's center, a store and dining lodge. The showers and restrooms were very clean and maintained daily. The playground is quite a long walk from campground 2, and more than a mile from campground 1. Note that several areas of the campground are still closed from the 2002 flooding. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
