Staff at office were very friendly. Price reflects the PA discount, plus $3 for 50amp, plus $2/day for internet (which didn’t work). You need to give the office a deposit of $5.00 for the washroom/shower key. We looked at the facilities and decided we didn’t want to use them. There were very old and cramped and a long way from our site. We wanted to do some laundry and needed a key from the office to get in there too. We looked in the “laundry” room and decided we’d rather go into town to do laundry as there was only one washer and one dryer and they looked really old. The RV Park is miles away from town and then miles on a dirt road. It’s quiet and dark at night, but there’s nothing to do there. We wouldn’t stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
You are in New Mexico folks so the Campground is not pristine nor green. But, it is clean and well cared for and the owners/management are absolutely stellar. WiFi worked fantastically and we were here for three nights. Site was good. Services, water, sewer and electricity, all performed perfectly. We didn't use the washrooms or laundry. Very windy days so we didn't get out and about much but this Campground is close to Elephant Butte State Park and Dam and lots to see and do in the area. IF you like fishing this is the place to be. I would highly recommend campers to stay here if you are looking for well cared for facilities, but not a Resort. Price reflects membership in Passport America and we thank the people at this Campground for being members of Passport America. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park is clean and management is wonderful. Maintenance is done by the owner and one of the mangers. They both do a good job I think. On May 1st, there were only 5 permanent residents. Most others were vacation RVs that are parked here permanently. It's pet friendly for well behaved pets. This park is about about mile and half from the boat ramp. Has some big rig lots. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Don't waste time or money coming here. $14 a night PPA, with $3 day upgrade to 50amp. Good: the management was very nice. Bad: the site we got was large stones on the door side, and did not make for comfortable walking. Easy to turn an ankle. The other three sides had some sort of stickers that stuck to the bottom on your shoes and pantlegs and came in the motorhome with us. Everytime the dog went out, she got at least one in her paw. Very painful! No shade, and beside the main drag for all the residents. Posted speed is 5mph, residents did about 40mph, which made for dust constantly. Do not waste $2 a day for Wi-Fi. It is totally useless. It takes hours just to get my e-mail to load. Do not see how they are justified in charging for it. And I was right next to the office. When we arrived, there were beer cans hanging in the small pine tree near our site. They blew out to join all the other soda and beer cans on the ground. Mostly permanent residents, and their dogs are allowed to do their business without being picked up. No dog run or designated area. The lake is a drive from the grounds, not a walk. And finally, I was not impressed with the dead carcass adorning the site next to us. I will not be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a Passport America Park and they adrertise they can handle any size RV. The site we were assigned required us to drive through another site in order to get to our site. We had to dodge two trees on the way into the site. In order to leave the site we'll have to "back out" since there are 2 trees right at the front of the site and it's impossible to get out without hitting them. This park might be alright to spend the night but I would not recommend it for much longer. We spent 2 night with a 40 foot motor home and car. We camped here in a Motorhome.
