The sites were large and flat and each had it's own grill. The bathrooms were cleaned several times a day and were always very clean. My kids enjoyed playing on the large play areas and fishing at the pond. Next time we will try the river. We were very happy with the park and the park rangers were extremely helpful. We will be going back. We camped here in a Tent.

We stayed at this campsite while doing our house search and we will likely never stay here again. Though our campsite was nice, number 23, others were not. Some campsites that were not in the Acorn Loop were literally on the side of the road, you had to set up your tent facing the main road. Bathrooms were not cleaned all weekend and there were 2 showers for the whole campsite in the Acorn Loop. You showered with bugs since there is no vents, the door didn't close all the way and nobody ever cleaned it as far as we saw. This campsite did have nice hot water in the showers but the sinks had 2 separate faucets for hot and cold so if you tried to wash your face at the sink your hands got really hot from using only the hot or really cold from using the cold. The office is a shed and you cannot buy anything besides wood which was very expensive for the amount you got. We camped here in a Tent.

This is an old state park. The few sites with power are short and can be hard to get into. There are a few long sites without power. It is nice to be near river for both boating and fishing. The town of Have de Grace just 4 miles east is very interesting. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice state park. Limited facilities but nice sites with plenty of space. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Even by the sparse standards of Maryland state parks, the facilities at this park (and most particularly the campground restrooms) were rather antiquated, there is no camp store or nature center, and planned activities were virtually non-existent, thus eliminating almost entirely any sense of a distinctive campground identity. On the other hand, some of the sites were both spacious and private, firewood is available for delivery to the campsites, there are a number of scenic hiking trails (not always well marked), security was both apparent and effective, and the Susquehanna River/Deer Creek offer an abundance of recreational opportunities (our kids loved swimming and wading in the creek, a popular, "at your own risk" activity unmentioned on the campground's website). We camped here in a Tent.
