I called and made reservations for 2 nights. The lady assured me we would fit. We are a 40 ft RV. We got there and found we would not fit. There were to many huge trees with branches hanging down. The space she reserved for us was not long enough and we would have been in the road. The street was very narrow and went down a steep slope. This place would be ok for a small 5th wheel or travel trailer 30'. The next day she told me there was camping about 14 blocks down Horton at the fair grounds. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We tried to stay at Gunn Park but were not successful. The signage in the campground is poor and roads are very narrow. The campground is obviously for campers under 25 feet. The campsites are not well defined, most are not level. The electric hookups are primitive consisting of only a 3x5 box containing a single 30 amp socket with no breakers. We were totally out of place here with our 38 foot rig. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great City park for an overnight stay. It's quiet and fairly easy to find (just watch for the signs along the route). We were the only unit for the first evening and were then joined by another unit the second night we stayed. It's close to the Fort Scott NP and wonderful shops in downtown Fort Scott. The National Cemetery isn't too far. This is a great place to walk the dog. The locals use the park for walking, riding and playgrounds. It is patrolled by City police. We'd stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice, quiet, secluded small campground as part of a city park. Although RV sites are not "on" the water, most are just across a dirt road from the water and there may be a site or two on the water. We enjoyed it for an overnight stop but it is not ideally suited for large rigs. However, it is manageable if you're mindful of the tight turns and narrow streets. Unhooking would be mandatory if the park were busy; we were here in October and did not unhook although we took up a couple of spaces. Be sure to check the power pedestals; the first two we tried had a polarity problem. That is why we only rated it a "3". We camped here in a Motorhome.
