Raysville is a Corp of Engineers park on Lake Strom Thurmond. It is a real nice park in a wooded area. Sites are well separated and generally quiet. The roads are paved and the sites are gravel and level. The bathhouses are clean, but show their age. There are pit toilets scattered around to supplement the two bathhouses. Most sites have direct access to the lake and most have really pretty views. Were it not for the people running Raysville, I would have easily given it a 8 rating. The people running this campground are unlike any I've encountered in nearly 60 years of camping. As an example, we camped with relatives in our trailer. We sat up a small (PETT) tent outside as a changing tent. One of the camp "hosts" stopped at our site and asked what was in the tent. We explained our situation. He then asked if there was a porti-potty in there. We again explained the purpose of the tent. He told us we couldn't have a porti-potty in there, but could have a shower. I shook my head and said "OK". This is just one example. We will not return until their reign expires and some reasonable people take over. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
