According to the campground's website, they can accommodate trailers and 5th wheels up to 40'. This is simply not true! The road that runs through the campground is steep, winding, and over hung by hundreds of low branches. In retrospect, we should have left as soon as we arrived. The park is old, run down, and covered in red ants and thorns. The fellow campers were noisy and inconsiderate with no supervision from staff. The pool was old and dirty. Several other fellow RV campers we spoke to agreed. The sites are incredibly narrow, close together, not level, and overhung by very low branches. Although we are very experienced in maneuvering our 36' 5th wheel, we struggled to navigate the road through the park and then to get into our narrow site. After positioning our trailer on every leveling block we own, it still was not level because the site was so far sloped. When it was finally time to check out after two nights of very little sleep due to noisy campers that partied until 3 in the morning, we were finally told that the dump station that is listed on their website was not operational. The final straw came when trying to pull out of our pull-through site. Branches and sharp corners blocked by boulders made it almost impossible to navigate our trailer out. After over an hour of trying to maneuver between boulders and branches, our trailer was completely wedged between. We had to call for help and be towed out. Any type of RV, especially one of any length, should never attempt to camp at this campground. Only people in tents, who wish to party all night instead of sleep, should reserve a site at this campground. We will never return! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice place in the wilderness, lots of shade and trees. No hookups but nice big spaces with picnic tables, great for ourdoor people who don't mind dry camping. There is water in the park and a spigot to fill your RV by the showers. Not much to do but enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery and the sunsets. Dogs loved it. We will be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay, although there wasn't much to do for the kids. Sites are pretty rustic, packed dirt with rock walls between. There are lots of trees, so be careful driving in and out. Pool was closed for winter. Nice little store with pool table, library, and juke box. Campground is on a steep hillside, so be prepared to walk up/down hill. Playground was pretty run down and horseshoe pit was not maintained. Sunset views were fantastic. Great location for visiting Palomar Observatory. Be careful driving in/out because we watched a trailer trying for an hour to get unstuck. Camp owners were very helpful in trying to get camper unstuck. We camped here in a Motorhome.
