This is what happens when a campground is built by someone who does not camp. Water and electric connections for about 1/2 the sites are 60 feet apart. Best use of dump site is clockwise drive around a counter clockwise laid out loop. Loose gravel on soft ground. Location is quiet with mature trees and good space between sites and a feel of being in the woods. Camp Host very experienced, cheerful and helpful. Campground is frequented by locals. Very careful positioning of camper and extension hose needed to hook with water and electric and camper position not best for site, picnic table position and truck parking. Heavy rain (5") washed large amount of gravel from sites and softened site so it was iffy pulling out, but these are known problems that have not been addressed. Bathhouse is clean, bright and roomy. If campground admin listens to host, this place will be usable. Water connection loose. Down rated for gravel, utility location, narrow pad, drainage, poor direction signs to campground and water connection leaking. Use this campground if no other option. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
This is a well-maintained campground. Although most of the sites were occupied by construction workers (Duke Energy power house project going on in Edwardsport), our stay was very quiet. The restrooms and showers appear to have been recently renovated and are air-conditioned (a plus considering the average temperature during our stay was 95 degrees with high humidity). There is a pay laundry (2 washers and 2 dryers) attached to the restroom/shower building. My wife and I enjoyed our time here and plan on returning in the fall. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Ouabache (Indian spelling for "Wabash") Trails Park is a clean, well cared for Park. Roads are a bit narrow, but completely usable. There are 35 RV (W/E) sites & 9 tent areas. A big playground area is close by for kids. A dump station is available, but is a bit tight to pull through. A laundry is available for use (pay). We would return, and if roads were wider & sewer hook-ups were available I would give it a 9. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
